Stupid 76ers. Why can't they pre-empt basketball instead of wrestling?
I forgot all about TE2.

What i don't understand is why get rid of Danny? He was the most athletic outta the bunch, and just cuz he couldn't cut a promo goodbye (Snow, you can't cut one either...ditto for Holly, Chavo, IVORY too!!) They did not even practice cutting promos either...hmmm..

On the other hand you got two little whiny 100 lb bitches who TAKE THE DAY OFF INSTEAD OF WRESTLING...hmmm...let's keep them...

I have real doubts that you're watching the same show I am, let me tell you that from the start. Or, you're really a big fan of Danny and it's coloring your judgement - that'd be fine if you just stated from the beginning, but maybe you did in some previous TE thread I didn't read.

>What i don't understand is why get rid of Danny? He was
>the most athletic outta the bunch,

HELLO, have you met JAKE. I like to call him the RINGER because he's JAKKED and looks the part so well.

The little we've seen, besides saying "holy crap Jake's STACKED (and he does a nice Tuesday update)", we only know that Danny runs fast, not that he's the Total Package.

>Snow, you can't cut one either...

Where you here for the "these fans don't care about you, Mick, I DO! And also the book you thought Rock threw in the trash, I THREW IN THE TRASH"? Or HEAD CHEESE, come on.

>ditto for Holly,

"I'm the Big Shot!"

>Chavo,

Don't even go there. That's so wrong ("Eddie, I want to fight YOU! C'mon!") it's pass laughable and on to outright shame.)

>IVORY too!!)

BY FAR, the best actress of the bunch of women around. She can actually express a range of emotions (beyond the two basic "innoncent" and "slut" ones) and doesn't say "TAG"

>They did not even practice cutting promos either...hmmm..

This CERTIANTLY wasn't the first time they wanted to show some personality - the video, the in-ring bit, the semi-final interview, the day at the acting stuido, all before cutting promos on this show - after a while, you know a guy is vanilla, so why waste effort on him? You can't teach it, but you can make up for lack of physical skills with someone who has a personality, so it makes sense to focus on that.

>On the other hand you got two little whiny 100 lb bitches
>who TAKE THE DAY OFF INSTEAD OF WRESTLING...hmmm...let's
>keep them...

See, again, if you were watching the show you'd know:

Alicia is working through a back muscle problem that typically sidelines people for TWO MONTHS - that she's sucking it up at all and going through with it is a credit to her.

Jessie has a HEART CONDITION and they wanted to keep her out of action so she didn't die or something. Maybe that's asking too much for YOU, but really...

It's not exactly taking a day off, is it?

What does their weight have to do with it? I don't get that at all.

(Aside to get me in trouble: oh wow see CRZ this is why people don't want to move from Delphi (I'm guessing - or maybe I'm just talking about me and this particular folder right here) is that you know, I rather be in the prison I know then the have to meet all knew prision guards. Or whatever it was that Bret said.)

I'm not one to take sides or anything but I can see that Lotty does have a point. One of those girls, whatever their names are, deserved to be cut more than that Danny guy.

That guy was lacking in the personality section but he had the heart to finish the show. Most people are cut early because they aren't TOUGH enough, not because they aren't cool enough. They either quit or was cut because they couldn't last.

Had he won or not, he would've made it to the last episode.
I thought it was bullshit too. For him to get cut twice is bullshit. The guy really wanted to be there, kinda reminded me of Bob Backlund, he's wasn't very popular but the guy could go. That can still be said for some wrestlers today. We may not hear much about them but they're out there.

Before Chavo made that comment, he was one of my favorite cruiserweights. "The reason he was an alternate was because he couldn't cut it in the 1st place..." or some shit like that. Then why was he an alternate? You knew from the start that he didn't have no charisma. Isn't that something that can be worked with? That was just trash.

Then you have that smiley face chick that has a heart condition. Isn't she a liability? What was that guys name that just passed, Russ Hass or something? If I'm not mistaken, he also had a heart problems. They'll probably be stupid enough to even CUT her later on because of her health problems.

On a side note, Al Snow has cut some of the funniest shit I've heard in wrestling. Anyone remember the promo he cut for Pierre, that deer head? I almost died when he did that deer sound.

By the way, it seems no one has answered deadbeater's question, so I'll do it.

Basically Hawk, Alicia and one other person were driving home from Traxx and started discussing who was going to be cut the next day. Alicia stated her opinion that Jessie was going to get cut, and threw in a few dismissive quotes, if I remember correctly.

First thing Hawk does when he gets home is tell all the guys about Alicia talking smack, and of course he does it loud enough so Jessie overhears. Jessie then gets all out of shape and confronts Alicia about it and an argument ensues, ending in Alicia crying and short of breath because she's so upset.

Hawk justifies it all with "well, people in this house deserve to know what the others really think about them."

Honestly, I thought Hawk played up what Alicia said, and Jessie then took it even further. Very Real World of him, I think. lol.

As for cutting Danny for being vanilla, I saw it as similar to cutting Robert for weight. They KNEW he was out of shape to begin with, but gave him a chance and he didn't show them anything in that department. So while they KNEW Danny was vanilla to begin with, they still gave him a chance and he didn't improve. Bye-bye Danny.

What impressed me was how well Bubba and D'von seemed to understand the psychology of the business--like when they were taking the kids' promos and improving them.
I mean, I've seen their ECW work so I know they can fire up an ECW crowd, but they haven't had much of an opportunity to do that in the WWF, and I always sort of thought maybe they were unable to maniupate the crowd in the WWF due to restrictions on what they can say, but I guess I was wrong.

I thought it was smart to cut Danny. But I do think if he looked a little more like Jake he probably wouldn't have been cut. They probably didn't have much choice in taking Danny after that other guy failed the physical. I don't think they went through a major process after that--Danny was just the first alternate [probably due to his running performance.]

I still think Jake will probably win, but Hawk is probably the most entertaining person on the show. Gimme a Hawkwich!
And Anni is beyond hot.

EDIT..btw, if Hawk wins, I wonder if they'll change his name, since there's already Road Warrior Hawk.

Why weren't the girls cut? Because it's a TV show.

Reality TV is only interesting if there's conflict in the group. The girls have supplied the producers with some conflict, with side effects like the other contestants having to side with one or the other. In these shows, tension is a good thing.

Don't forget, when they have the "cut conference," the producers and Big and the trainers all know what went on in the house the night before. The girls are kept on the show in the hopes that they argue even more.

Not to mention the fact that we're waiting to see which one gets broken in half first.

Im really not liking this new Tough Enough. The MTV effect is pissing me off. What I liked about last season was it wasnt like every other crap reality show. It was "real". Now its too much "Survivor" with all the stupid challenges and manufactured drama. Like the cutting procedure. Its totally stupid and humiliating in my opinion. I mean if youre going to cut a guy just cut him. Dont make it so goddam dramatic. And I dont like the trainers. Ivory and Holly just seemed to be trying to look good and be hardcore rather than teach something. The cast has fallen into the same trap that has killed "Real World" they seem to be more concerned with being actors for the camera, than just acting somewhat normal. I just wish they would concentrate more on the wrestling aspect, that what hooked me from last season.

I didn't see the show last night, but I'm wondering if anyone with a HEART CONDITION should be allowed to become a WRESTLER. I mean, if it is bad enough to keep her from training, how will it not effect her when she has to perform night after night. I would say that a HEART CONDITION is as good of reason to cut someone as I can think of. With Alicia, if she really does have a back problem, then I guess it is a credit to her that she is working through it. But I with some of the others, she sure doesn' t look hurt when she is dancing.

This show has definately fallen off. I was surprised how training oriented the first one was, and really ended up enjoying it. Unfortunately, this year has been MTV-ized (the process of making every show just like The Real World), and the training aspect seems just incidental to the actual content of the show. I'm not liking it so much.

The one thing that makes it entirely too predicatable at this point is that the complete lack of focus on those who arent getting cut. You knew that Jackie, Anni, Hawk and few others had no chance of getting cut because almost the entire show dealt with Danny, and the two tiny girls.

Exactly. Nor should 85-pound shrimps with zero athletic ability.

But the show this year isn't even remotely about wrestling. Maybe last season it was, but not any more.

All I'm trying to say is if you get hurt doing the simple basic bumps right now, there is NO WAY IN HELL you are going to cut it in the WWF, hell even HWA or OVW...

Danny couldn't cut a promo, sure whatever, like a majority of the WWF wrestlers today can? The show is supposed to be about being "tough enough," cutting promos will come with time.

The two little whiny girls gotta go. And they will, but I think it would have looked better if they had gone before Danny.

This show looks easily predictable with Anni and Jake taking the contracts.

Heck, Maven can't. Dude comes off as way too earnest, like he's competing for his school's DECA meet than for the WWF.

I have two things to say:

1. Bob Holly is really pissing me off. He's a badass, sure. But you know what? It doesn't take much of a man to be a badass to these goobers on the show. I'm so sick of his "Don't point at me!" and "Don't ever say you missed me again!" crap. Who does he think he is? You would think it was Stone Cold out there, in character.

2. No lesbian undertones for TWO WHOLE WEEKS, unless you count the catfight last night. That was the best part of the show!

This version sucks compared to TE1. I just can't get into the contestants.

For the women's contract, I would put my money on Jackie right now. She seems to be skilled in the ring, the glimpse of her promo that we saw was better than the glimpse of Anni's, and, let's face it, she has more of a Diva look to her. I think they'll be the two women left standing at the end, and they'll go with Jackie.

As for the men, nobody yet seems to have the inevitability that Maven had. I'd say Matt, Jacob and Pete are all pretty strong contenders. Kenny is a longshot, but it could happen.

I wonder how much it hit home for Bob Holly and Ivory when they talked about nothing being worse than having zero reaction when you walk to the ring. And I still think Big's relationship with the contestants as a group and as individuals is one of the more compelling parts of the show. It's a very interesting middle ground between friend and trainer.

You may have been watching the showing, but you obviously weren't paying attention. The trainers themselves said how good "in the ring" Danny was, how, not only was he fast, but he was quick to learn the moves.

Well I'll ring in and say that Danny getting cut is good...FOR ME TO POOP ON!

It was entirely too early for Danny to go. He was the best in the physical contests and the fastest learner, by almost everyone on the shows opinion. I know he's vanilla, but they could have alteast kept him on the show longer to give it a little more crediblity. He wasn't any worse than Jake (who may have talked a little better, but his voice is entirely too gooberish.)

Out of the remaining males, I'm probably going to go with "the instigator" Hawk. Since this show's taking a real world turn, they gots to be trying to develope a heel to counter the face Maven. AJ and Jessie need to get off the show before they sacifice themselves on the alter of "good television".

As for that real world turn, it's probably the worse thing this show can have. The real world was interesting for two seasons, and then it got ridiculous how much they tired to create conflict in the house. I can't wait till they pull out Puck for the Tough Enough/Road Rules/Real World challange :P
