Raw Preview: Major show scheduled for tonight highlighted by Benoit vs. Michaels
Feb 16, 2004, 4:08 pm
A source backstage who saw the formatting sheet for tonight's Raw says the show looks absolutely "awesome on paper."
This is the official start of the hard sell for WrestleMania. Most of the major angles will take place in the next two weeks, leaving time for everything to then be refined in the final two weeks of hype.
The highlight of tonight's show in the ring will be Chris Benoit vs. Shawn Michaels.
The show will also feature the next stage in the Michaels-Benoit-Triple H triangle that has developed.
They also will be moving toward an announcement of Brock Lesnar vs. Goldberg (the official announcement will probably be saved for Smackdown). As reported in detail last week in the Torch Newsletter, Steve Austin will be involved in this storyline all the way through WrestleMania.
The Undertaker-Kane storyline will also progress tonight.
This Raw looks like it will be awesome. Can't wait for Benoit/Michaels, hopefully they'll be given half an hour. Don't know if we'll see just another 20-something days until the dead rises video or something new and innovative. Would love to see Brock show up on Raw and F-5 Goldberg, but who knows. All I know it i'll have to wait until Friday to see it, so everyone that has Spike TV, hope yo enjoy the show!

Remember, Brock signed an exclusive contract with SD in the late summer of '02, so unless they decide to conveniently forget that (WWF/E-conveniently forget? That never happens.) Brock can't show up on RAW.
The WWE always gets around that sort of thing by having the guy 'buy' a ticket to the show, and then he's able to enter the arena and interfere. Just because he signed an exclusive contract to Smackdown to actually wrestle on, doesn't stop him from intruding onto RAW, to further the feud.
Well according to last week tonight on RAW, Eric Bischoff is also going to get fired. I have no idea where this angle is going but remeber Vince told Bisch if Goldberg interfered he was fired.

I would really love to see Bishoff fired. I for one have marked out before when VKM fired him only to allow him back in as GM. I think EB as a manager might be cool. I would prefer him to be a frustrated heel manager than a sometimes in control GM. I'm really looking forward to RAW tonight!
Now everything is starting to make sense. Bischoff knew that Heyman was going to have Goldberg arrested if he showed up, so he wasn't concerned. But Bischoff didn't count on Heyman freeing Goldberg so that he could interfere and cost Bischoff his job.
Then, once all these abuses of power become apparent, there's only one solution: make the sheriff get involved.
Yeah, angles in the ring... someone thought of that a long time ago. They called it pro wrestling." -- the MCS

I could have told you that this is what Raw was going to feature tonight, and I'm not even that smart!
As you know Vince and Brock are still close with their turn on Angle in the summer so the boss can make any rulings he wants and allowing Brock to appear on Raw but not neccesarily jump to Raw would be possible.

That's what I was thinking...aside from the "awesome" comment from the backstage source, there's nothing too shocking listed.
Was this important premium site stuff. The World title feud will be focused. And more Undertaker/Kane stuff. AWESOME SCOOPS!
