Possible- possible. Personally, I think the news jumped a little too all over that one. But something like that WAS a good propoganda tool- people were likely confused and unsure, and watching that statue topple would be a great victory for propoganda there. So they wanted to control it?
Could have been faked, but I am not so sure that it really matters in the long term... there is enough footage of other, similar acts, and I seriously doubt all of them could have been staged.
Hell, maybe they planned it, and did NOT want the masses pouring into the area because of the safety hazzard of this huge statue crashing down on a throng of people...
It's the tenth year anniversary of Hurricane Katrina. I remember being totally obsessed with the coverage of the impending storm and then aftermath. Personally, with 1/2 of my family being in Biloxi, it was a difficult time.
