Originally posted by QuezzyI have to say, I think Kentucky winning out is a great possibility. The SEC has been pretty crazy this year. It seems like Alabama, Mississippi State, and Florida are really good one game and then they very next game get blown out. But the one thing that has stayed constant is that Kentucky wins, and they will keep on winning. I would've been really interested to see Bama/UK if Bama won all their games up until then, but now I don't see anyone beating the Wildcats and I'm convinced my Gators will never ever beat them again.
Atleast I got my hometown UAB Blazers :)
Ouch on the UAB thing, Quezzy - I mean OUCH.
The Gators impressed me Tuesday, they're a lot tougher than they have been in the past - I'm not looking forward to the game in Gainesville at all. I think Billy may have decided that he needs some bangers and role palyers to compliment his 3 point shooters.
The 'Cats have some holes, but they are improving game by game. Their greatest asset this year is quality depth. Sheray Thomas had quality minutes against Florida and he is 4 months removed from major surgery (removal of tumor on adrenal gland) that had most fans thinking medical redshirt. I still think that they'll be nicked a couple of times between now and the SEC tournament.
The Gators did look better than usual, that first half they looked more physical than usual and didn't turnover the ball much but then they blew it in the second half, not to take anything away from Kentucky who played great. I was especially impressed by Rondo who not only made some big plays offensively but also shutout Roberson in the second half. It's just frustrating, it's bad enough that this team is so inconsistent from game to game. They need overtime to beat an pathetic Auburn team, then beat Vandy easily, lose to Tennessee in overtime, then beat Georgia and South Carolina easily, then get handled by Miss St., then they destroy Alabama giving all us Gator fans hope of beating Kentucky, then they trick us again. I do think the game in Gainesville will be close but like usual I think Kentucky will find a way to win. But who knows, Walsh's first good game back was the Alabama game so maybe they are starting to get it all together despite the loss against Kentucky.
The way they've played in the NCAA tournament lately I'll be glad if they make it past the first round this year.
It would break my heart to see LeBron miss the playoffs while that piece of garbage Vince Carter gets in. If NJ squeaks into the eighth spot, here's hoping that Wade utterly humiliates VC, possibly with Globetrotter moves.
