No XBox presence at all. None. Not unexpected, but it's sad to see that AN ERA HAS PASSED. Or whatever.

Peter Jackson and Fran Walsh partner with MS to create Wingnut Interactive (a game studio), announces exclusive to 360 all-new titles AND a new Halo game - This refers to something BESIDES Halo 3 and Halo Wars (see below). I'm guessing this will be something that ties into the Halo movie that Jackson is producing. Normally that would scare me, but there have been a few decent movie-to-game transitions in the recent past, Riddick being most notable.

Halo Wars - Halo returns to it's "original intended form" with a realtime strategy game. Trailer is up on the XBL marketplace and on xbox.com.

HD-DVD drive to be $200, comes with a universal media remote and the HD-DVD version of King Kong - This was the biggest news for me as it's actually quite tempting now, even with the format war...especially because I don't have a remote or King Kong on any media format.

Marvel Universe Online coming - from the makers of City of Heroes/City of Villains. Didn't Marvel just try to sue them a while back? I'm turned off by MMOs because of the monthly fees, but this may be hard to resist.

GTA 4 to have to two exclusive expansion episodes on 360 - Supposedly each one will be roughly the size of the PSP GTA games. Nothing to sneeze at.

Next Splinter Cell game to be 360 exclusive. Kind of surprised there. Not complaining, though. This refers to the game AFTER Double Agent, which is coming out in a few weeks.

Project Gotham Racing 4 on the way - Why are they pushing this when Forza is still a few months off?

New Banjo-Kazooie for 360 - Not much known outside of the fact it's coming.

Bioshock exclusive to the 360...for now. It won't be out for PS3 for quite a while yet. Originally they were scheduled to be out at the same time.

Not news from X06, but other news from today that finally confirmed what we were expecting:

Guitar Hero 360 coming - Complete with Explorer-style controller. Praying it's wireless. If so, this just became by far my most-wanted 360 game.

There were a few more tidbits here and there, but I believe that's the big stuff.

I've stayed away from games like WoW and the like simply because I'm not a PC gamer. However, a CONSOLE MMO is something I can get behind. And if the CoH/CoV crew is working on a Marvel MMO, then I'm definitely on board. And I doubt we'd have to worry about monthly fees since I'd have to think this would be playable through Xbox Live. This will be THE reason to own an Xbox 360 in a few years. I can feel it!

Of course, I'm also wondering how Sony will respond, since they've got the rights to a DC MMO.

TEN YEARS AGO IN WRESTLING HISTORY: SEPTEMBER 1996
WWF: Shawn Michaels d. Mankind at Mind Games, one of the 90's best matches. Also, some guy named Steve Austin made it his personal mission to bring Bret Hart back to the ring.

WCW: The nWo prevailed in War Games with the help of a Fake Sting. The real Sting walked out on WCW, kicking off one of the biggest angles in the company's history.

As to an extra fee, it depends. Final Fantasy was on console and you still had to pay a fee. I would hope not, but you never know.

As far as a monthly fee for MUO, unfortunately I'd expect one. Final Fantasy had one, and Cryptic (studio behind this) had a fee for CoH and CoV. Oh, and Microsoft isn't adverse to making a few extra bucks here and there....

There's a small glimmer of hope it could turn out to be another Guild Wars (meaning free), but I wouldn't expect it.
