I figured I'd start a new thread here rather than just resurrecting a three-day old one.
I watched it for the first time in two weeks tonight, and wasn't surprised to see Todd Glass eliminated...the guy just tries too hard, and isn't funny. He was on Tough Crowd the other night and the look on Quinn's face just screamed "this poor sap..."
As a whole, though, of the episodes I've seen I can't say that I've found any of the comedians to be funny. When I saw Jim Norton was auditioning I thought he'd walk away with it. He's FAR funnier than anyone that made the house in my opinion. They should definitely re-think some of the talent scouts that they use for the auditioning period.
Or maybe the Hacks in the House should stick to making incredibly dull and stupid comments on VH1.
THere are four comics in the house that I find terribly funny, the rest are just terrible. I was sure my honey Tammy was out tonite, I thought Glass was funnier. Anyhow, she lives to fight another day.
Highlite of the nite, the "real world" graphic when Ant was crying. I lauged out loud.
Todd Glass definitely didn't step up tonight and probably deserved to lose, head-to-head, but he's the only semi-interesting person in the house. He was the only one who didn't take things so seriously. Everyone else is practically meditating for battle and crying about how crappy their life is, while Todd's just fucking around, which I think is the heart of the show. It's definitely not about standup comedy, nor being the best at it.
I don't think he's trying too hard to be funny, I think that's his act. In fact, half of his jokes usually end in "No, I'm just kidding," which is a big no-no, but I think it's intentional. He's definitely not the funniest person I've ever seen, but he was the most interesting one on the show.
He really does look like a cross between Fred Flintstone and Mel Gibson. Uncanny.
I am glad it was Tammy who proved Boonie's theory wrong about men being funnier then women (although I know Bonnie wrote that in jest). Kathleen has character (go St. Louis!), I loved the way she called a spade a spade and told Ant that even though they are friends he should have been punched in the face already.

Originally posted by Teppan-YakiTodd Glass, and I'm not kidding here, had a decent set, but that end was just HORRIBLE. He needed to pitch a high heater and threw a knuckleball. .
Exactly what my wife and I thought. He was really funny until the last 30 seconds or so. At that point, he tried about seven different jokes all jumbled together and none of it was funny. It's too bad, because he was the most entertaining of the house guests.
My favorites so far are the relatively innocuous John and Gary.
I'm very glad to see Todd out of the house, as I never found any of the goofy shit he did to be funny at all, but I was shocked to find myself not minding his set. In my mind, Tammy bombed, with only the hillbilly joke as a fresh one that I enjoyed, so I was surprised to see Todd lose.
I've been rooting for John since before the semi-finals, so I was quite happy to see him get that 94% vote last week. I think he only voted for Alonzo this week with the logic that nobody would possibly vote for Al, so he was at no risk (since nobody would vote for John either). That's what I would do too.
Idle hands spend time at the genitals, and you know how much God hates that
Nope, he had been around for a long time talking about the case. Interesting thing is that he ending up backing away a bit from some of the more dramatic events of the "real life exorcist case" before he died.
