From 1Wrestling...

Tommy Dreamer's stint as a member of the writing team is over. Dreamer was given a "tryout" spot in the creative end last month, while he continued to wrestle. He was given the slot with the plan being that it would reevaluated down the road. WWE decided to move forward without Dreamer on the team, though I am not exactly sure why. He was taken off off the writing team two weeks ago.

This sucks....just when the show was starting to get better.

Does this mean that we'll have no more conversations between Dreamer and HHH at the beginning of the RAW Satire columns? That's a travesty!

By the way, Storm's gimmick includes 1.) telling the audience to shut up, and 2.) occasionally making everyone stand for the Canadian national anthem. You know they don't know what to do with a wrestler when he's making fans stand for a national anthem. It's like waving a white flag and saying, "This guy has no personality -- we give up."

well, when it happened, I said it was a good move. I'm wondering what Tommy was responsible for that we saw? If he was the one helping Hurricane get his push, I'll be sad. If he's the one responsible for Maven getting treated like a dog, then I'll be happy.

Get well soon Kurt, Batista, Randy, Edge, Kevin, Scotty, Bubba, Regal....

Man, that's depressing...and I know there's people I've forgotten!

Damn, that sucks. So who exactly is the writing team now? Paul and his boy Tommy are gone.

Too bad, I was hoping that Dreamer's addition to the Raw creative team would have changed Raw for the better.

Probably got fired because he had too good of ideas.

I can just see Vince asking himself "How can we better the writing on Raw?" only to turn to Brian Gerwirtz for help.

I read where Dreamer was kicked out because he was too vocal on finding gaps in logic in storylines. If this is true- what a joke the writers are.

You could have a couple weeks where HHH doesn't realize Dreamer's off the writing team and keeps pandering to him. That could be fun.

(RAW Satire is one of my favorite things on the board, BTW)

I read where Tommy got kicked off the writing staff for bringing powdered doughnuts when they CLEARLY wanted jelly filled ones.

What a doughnuthole

Do we REALLY know that Tommy got kicked off the team because he had *GREAT* ideas, or do we know that it was simply something he didn't want to do?

I mean, do we know that RAW's been great because he's been writing it, or is it simply because everyone's stepped up lately? We don't know--we're not backstage, we're not privy to all the new shit...

It could just be something that he didn't want to get caught up in...WE JUST DON'T KNOW.

My understanding is that he was allowed to sit in on meetings for a trial period of a month or so to

a) see how things worked backstage
b) see what sort of thoughts he could contribute to the writing process

As he was only ever in this position its doubtful that he was ever given sole responsibility for any of the recent storylines we've been seeing.

And for "finding too many gaps in logic" you could just as easily read "getting ideas above ones station before one even has a foot in the door"

No, silly he didn't get Vince's coffee right.

Knowing the circumstances, I don't think Mr. Rogers threatening a laundromat attendant with a gun is appropriate anymore. So you get this instead.

From everything I've read (in others, who knows how reliable it is), sounds like the writing staff doesn't really warm to people with an actual wrestling background. Dreamer and Heyman both fit that description. And even Russo was saying last year that he didn't fit in with the process. I guess Michael Hayes is the exception.
So the team obviously needs more sitcom writers, not silly wrestlers getting in the way...

He usually punishes people for that by having Bossman beat the shit out of them in a cage.

I smell a Raw main event!
