Tommy Dreamer's stint as a member of the writing team is over. Dreamer was given a "tryout" spot in the creative end last month, while he continued to wrestle. He was given the slot with the plan being that it would reevaluated down the road. WWE decided to move forward without Dreamer on the team, though I am not exactly sure why. He was taken off off the writing team two weeks ago. --------
This sucks....just when the show was starting to get better.

| #2 Posted on 13.3.03 1544.22 | Does this mean that we'll have no more conversations between Dreamer and HHH at the beginning of the RAW Satire columns? That's a travesty!
By the way, Storm's gimmick includes 1.) telling the audience to shut up, and 2.) occasionally making everyone stand for the Canadian national anthem. You know they don't know what to do with a wrestler when he's making fans stand for a national anthem. It's like waving a white flag and saying, "This guy has no personality -- we give up."

| #14 Posted on 14.3.03 0121.56 | Do we REALLY know that Tommy got kicked off the team because he had *GREAT* ideas, or do we know that it was simply something he didn't want to do?
I mean, do we know that RAW's been great because he's been writing it, or is it simply because everyone's stepped up lately? We don't know--we're not backstage, we're not privy to all the new shit...
It could just be something that he didn't want to get caught up in...WE JUST DON'T KNOW.

My understanding is that he was allowed to sit in on meetings for a trial period of a month or so to
a) see how things worked backstage b) see what sort of thoughts he could contribute to the writing process
As he was only ever in this position its doubtful that he was ever given sole responsibility for any of the recent storylines we've been seeing.
And for "finding too many gaps in logic" you could just as easily read "getting ideas above ones station before one even has a foot in the door"

| #18 Posted on 14.3.03 1111.03 | From everything I've read (in others, who knows how reliable it is), sounds like the writing staff doesn't really warm to people with an actual wrestling background. Dreamer and Heyman both fit that description. And even Russo was saying last year that he didn't fit in with the process. I guess Michael Hayes is the exception. So the team obviously needs more sitcom writers, not silly wrestlers getting in the way...
