First Mel Gibson, now Tom Cruise.... who's the next megastar who's going to snap and drive down their own box office?
-Jag
That's not entirely accurate in Mel's case, is it? Passion made BANK. And I don't think he's released a starring vehicle since, so who's to say how his marketability has been affected by his actions?
Cruise, on the other hand, is making me want to see War of the Worlds less and less every day. Too bad, I was really excited about it.

When I see the ads for WotW, I keep thinking back to Independance Day. Now, I own ID4 on video...so I'm not compelled to see this in theatres.

Realistically, how many high profile Hollywood marriages work? Outside of Travolta's marriage?
Tom Hanks and Rita Wilson Paul Newman and Joanne Woodward Danny DeVito and Rhea Perlman Ted Danson and Mary Steenburgen Jamie Lee Curtis and Chris Guest Courteney Cox and David Arquette (man, I wouldn't have bet money on this one) Warren Beatty and Annette Bening Jane Kaczmarek and Bradley Whitford Heather Locklear and Richie Sambora Goldie Hawn and Kurt Russell have been together for 20 years, though I don't think they ever actually got married
Does the Tom/Katie hookup mean that Chris Klein will have to hook up with Nicole? I would pay to be a fly on the wall for that date.
How is it that Brooke Shields is funnier in a few press quotes than she was in all those years of Suddenly Susan?

Thank you for that link. It was very informative. What I think about that article isn't for this thread, so I'll stop here. It was illuminating though, and all I have to say is: Good luck Katie, and remember, Tom Cruise says that Ritalin is evil. He even attacked Matt Lauer on the Today Show, and now I'm really wondering "Where is Matt today?"

| #49 Posted on 27.6.05 1044.05 | Instant Rating: 1.42 | I just read the Today show interview and am now fully convinced that Tom Cruise is insane. I know too many people who have been helped by prescription drugs. My autistic son is one of them. After various new age remedies to help him, he has been taking Adderall and the change has been staggering. He can now sit through school and focus for longer periods of time. Did it cure his autism? Of course not, but it is helping him function better in mainstreamed society. My wife and I agonized over the decison to put him on Adderall. The last thing I need is some Hollywood/Scientologist freak telling me how to raise my kids and what is right for people in general. A movie that stars Tom Cruise will never get my money again. I used to think he got jobbed in the Oscars in the past (Born on the Fourth of July, Magnolia) but now I hope he nevers even gets nominated again. What an asshole.
By the way, Brooke Shields is now my favorite actress!
