She said something along the lines of the opinion that Cruise should stay out of her business and go back to "saving the world from aliens", which was a ref to his movie and thinly veiled swipe at $cientology. Very funny.

Realistically, how many high profile Hollywood marriages work? Outside of Travolta's marriage?
Tom Hanks and Rita Wilson Paul Newman and Joanne Woodward Danny DeVito and Rhea Perlman Ted Danson and Mary Steenburgen Jamie Lee Curtis and Chris Guest Courteney Cox and David Arquette (man, I wouldn't have bet money on this one) Warren Beatty and Annette Bening Jane Kaczmarek and Bradley Whitford Heather Locklear and Richie Sambora Goldie Hawn and Kurt Russell have been together for 20 years, though I don't think they ever actually got married
Does the Tom/Katie hookup mean that Chris Klein will have to hook up with Nicole? I would pay to be a fly on the wall for that date.
How is it that Brooke Shields is funnier in a few press quotes than she was in all those years of Suddenly Susan?

By PHILIP RECCHIA June 19, 2005 -- KATIE HOLMES' new Scientology "handler" is church "royalty" whose family made millions in business and the stock market — and went on to be plagued by charges of religious harassment and linked to Medicare fraud, The Post has learned. Jessica Rodriguez has emerged as the woman who's been irking Warner Bros. Pictures by shadowing the "Batman Begins" star 24/7 during Holmes' press blitz.
Since meeting Holmes in April, Rodriguez — who believes in reincarnation and wears a Navy-like uniform while on duty at the church — has been her constant companion, shadowing the next Mrs. Tom Cruise wherever she goes on both sides of the Atlantic.
Earlier this month, she was spotted trying on shoes at Barneys in Manhattan, as Holmes gabbed away on her cellphone. She was reportedly disruptive during Holmes' interviews with the British press a few weeks ago. And yes, she was in France last week when hyper movie star Cruise popped the question to the perky starlet in Paris.
Some have described her as Holmes' new best friend. But others see her more as Katie's Scientologist mentor — or is it monitor?
They had pictures from several different events and sitings that always had her lurking in the background with her sunglasses on looking very "Secret Service".
Free Katie.

Monitor. My wife works in urban planning, and she had to spend a week documenting buildings in Clearwater, some of which were on the same street as a big Scientology Center. When the students and auditees crossed the street from one Scientology building to another — a distance of maybe 50 feet — they were quite literally escorted by a platoon of security personnel, who kept the outside world from getting in their formation, and everyone in the formation from getting out.
My wife also had to take pictures of the Scientology buildings and write down details on a clipboard, so all this data could be inputted in GIS stuff and some electronic archive. About 90 seconds after taking a picture, a security man came out and threatened her with arrest for trespass and tried to bully her away from the building before she showed her credentials and the boilerplate legal paper from the city explaining the project. The guy still took down her car's license #.
Nice people.

Movie bosses are thrilled with the response to Batman Begins ... and have snapped up the film's stars for a sequel ... But Holmes won't reprise her role as district attorney Rachel Dawes -- reportedly because Warner Bros is angry her engagement to Tom Cruise has stolen media attention away from the movie."

I guess that would make sense if the sequel was gonna come out next week. But it's probably at least a couple years away, and I'm sure all of this Cruise/Holmes hoopla will have died down by then.
