Well, now! It seems that ever since I posted my "SHUT UP, LAWLER!" thread a few weeks ago, the dirty old man has heard the cries of the Wieners, and cleaned up his act on RAW. Apart from a couple of "Dancing Divas" comments, and some mild Trish-jizzing, he hasn't made any perverted statements tonight! I'd never thought I'd say this, but I'm actually PROUD of the man!
I'm not proud of him, I find it likely that he was ordered to tone down his act. After the HLA-debuting RAW episode, I wrote a very long and detailed letter to WWE Feedback, telling them I liked the show but Lawler made the thing almost intolerable. Since that show, he's tuned it down considerably, but I get the feeling he was told to do so. I can't be proud of a man for simply following orders-- that's what he's supposed to do anyway, right?

on one hand you are absolutely right, Ekedolphin, it IS horrible that they had to tell Lawler to do his job.
On the other hand, thank God that they did do it. It should have happened much longer ago.
Perhaps they have come to the conclusion (through feedback from the likes of you and I, as I mailed them too) that it isn't some new young star who makes the ratings go down. But stupid stuff by Lawler..Good to know he is doing his best now, and let's hope he doesn't go back to being a annoying old pervert on screen.
The only person who is capable of carrying a broom to a five star outing is none other than.... Torri Welles
It is so much better now. I didn't have to mute him once, either this week, last week, or during the PPV.
Whether he was being an ass under orders, or stopped it under orders, or stopped it all on his own -- I really don't care. Call me goal-oriented if you will, but all I care about is that it has ceased to be a problem. As long as it doesn't come back, I will be one happy camper.
Jerry Lawler has been reportedly attempting to tone down his commentary act in the recent weeks, not acting as though his hormones were put into overdrive. It's felt by himself and everyone in the WWE that he's become a parody of himself in the recent months and wasn't helping the WWE product with his over-the-top commentary.

This might be the wrestling-related understatement of the year...
Hey, I used the Raw online-comments thing as well. Maybe they actually read that thing?

I've definatly enjoyed the past couple shows of Non-Perv Lawler. I'd still rather have him replaced though. A couple good weeks does not make up for what he's done.
