| #1 Posted on 1.7.03 0909.04 | Anyone know what the deal is with the new tnn in Canada? It seems to have a somewhat different schedule but for no reason that makes sense. For example in the mornings we get VIP at 9 just like in the US, but then it continues until 12 when the promos say Baywatch will be on next. That's actually somethign I'm greatful for since VIP rocks, I'm just curious what the deal is.
Also, do you folks in the states get absolutly no commercials and only new TNN spots? For a while it seemed like they played a lot of them over and over, but then i started paying attention and there really are no non promo commercials. What's up with that?| Promote this thread! | | PeterStork

Nice run-on sentence there.
As for the non-commercial aspect, I would doubt there's a legal reason. Viacom may just have chosen not to sell the network there, at least not yet. They started TV Land like that, allowing it to gain a foothold before they added commercials; it was just promos to start with.

| #3 Posted on 1.7.03 1720.38 | Are you talking about the commercials with the celebrities talking about The New TNN?
Cause if you are, aside from Austin saying "Ren and Stimpy", there's no mention of WWE in those commercials.

Then I'm sitting there suffering through something like St. Louis and Vancouver and having to wait until the next day to see wrestling aired.

Stewie: Ahahaha. Oh God, that's funny. That's really funny. You write your own material? Do you? Because that is so fresh. 'You are the weakest link. Goodbye!' You know I've never heard anyone make that joke before. You're the first. I've never heard anyone reference that outside program before. Because that's what she says on the show, right? Hmmm? 'You are the weakest link. Goodbye!' And ye...ye..yet you've taken it and....and used it out of context to insult me in this everyday situation. What a clever, smart girl you must be. To come up with a joke like that all by yourself. Mmmmm...that's so fresh too. Any Titanic jokes you want to throw at me as long as we're hitting these phenomena at the height of their popularity. Mmmm? Cuz i'm here God you're so funny!

Any new news on this Spike TV thing, btw?

I remember one thing I could NOT stand when living in TOronto: The Rogers noise that aired after each and every one of their commercials. Arrrrrrg. IT's almost as annoying as the intel thing.

Oh geez, we get those same kinds of ads. Except they look like they were made in 1987. And the ones where they spoof the DirecTV installers? SucksuckSUCK. Who complains "about all the hassles"? It's like they picked a few words to sum up every single negative thing they could find about TV on the technical end. -_-
