Jeff's next trial date is Wednesday. That thing has been continued so many times, but it's possible that even if TNA doesn't willingly get rid of him, this still might it for him for the time being.

Any chance Sting took it upon himself to end the match right then & there against Jeff's wishes?
I can see why you'd say that. The way Sting covers him definitely puts more pressure on a pin than usual. And it looks like Jeff reaches for Hebner after the 2 count. You don't see that often, even when selling that you're struggling to get out.
Eric seems to tell Jeff something before the match and then raises his arm.
Anyways, interesting situation. It's hard to tell if Hardy is in a really bad condition due to all the facepaint. But he seemed rather slow and not quite there in getting to the ring.

It looks like on the two count, Hardy makes the half-hearted "oh, this is where I kick out" move with his left leg but Sting hangs on and then Jeff gives one more honest-to-goodness attempt to kick out before the 3.
It sounds like the PPV was horrific, but this Hardy nonsense has a Zapruder-like quality I find fascinating.

Honestly, who can blame Sting, though.
Hardy was being an ass and continuing the match could have led to something worse happening. Besides, if he really was on some substance then his decisions are very clear. | PaulKTF

Then again Sting did look pretty pissed and he's never been known as one of the better actors, but that could be because of the shitty sell by Hardy.

I have to say, though, you've got to admire Sting's loyalty to TNA and dedication, even if his common sense is sometimes in question. That's assuming Vince even reached out to him at all. The only rumor I heard was Macho threw a fit about not winning and Vince gave it to him. Dibease commented on a few interviews he was pissed for awhile then he let it go when he became born again.
Again, Sting did the right thing by holding him down and Hebner counting the pin. I think one week is very light and he should be sent home for at least six months if not outright fired. I guess the merchandising sales won out over professionalism and respect for one's work, co-workers and probably their own safety. Just sad if its only week. | thecubsfan

They (probably not Vince personally) did contact him after the first vignette aired, but Sting did not seem interested in coming in. Not idea what WWE actually offered him, if there was an offer.

And sure enough, Meltzer raises the possibility of a worked shoot here, considering the parties involved. For TNA's sake, I'd really hate to think this is all a work, because at some point, you have to stop crying wolf. And with Jeff Hardy's VERY REAL problems, I don't think that's something they should be crying wolf about.

Hardy could end up dead, and it's all to spike a rating for a few weeks and get a few more PPV buys.

If I'm TNA and this is all real, I'd CLAIM it's an attempt at a Sheen analogue to disguise Hardy's alleged incapacitation. The best bet may be to pretend it's an act and try to cover the lack of sober thinking from everyone involved. Hardy may be dumb enough to get wasted before a PPV, but Eric and Sting got in the ring with him. Was this a Dixie call? Does she have the ability to veto booking in such an instance?
