Well I figured since the last one was closed, that we could start a new one with the show in a few days and all.
Its been pretty rough with TNA being totally in the dark for three whole weeks. Its kind of hurt the momentum of this show. And since TNA seems to have walked away from WGN, it just puts their on air future even in more question I think. They need some sort of weekly TV outlet and they need it yesterday.
That said, I think this is one of their best cards for their monthly shows ever. The new booking committee seems to be on their game, and they look poised to deliver a memorable show. This is a crucial period right now for TNA, and Slammiversary, their third year anniversary show is hugely significant in this re-buidling/re-establishing period/transition they are going through right now.
This card is stacked and has way more potential than any WWE PPV in recent memory. Amazing Red and Alex Shelley are back and will be in separate matches. Samoa Joe is now in TNA too. Anyway, an awesome looking card, so TNA HAS to deliver this Sunday.
Here's the rundown:
King Of The Mountain Match for the NWA World Title: AJ Styles(c) vs. Jeff Jarrett vs. Monty Brown vs. Abyss vs. Wildcard Opponnent. I sincerely hope its not someone like Sean Waltman, Jeff Hardy (especially not that no-showing useless baka), etc. My hope is that it will be Jerry Lynn or Raven. Jerry Lynn would especially be awesome. With the lack of TV and everything, AJ should definitely hold on to the title. Now's not the time for a hotshot title change. Build AJ up as a big face champion, so it will be a lot more meaningful when a new heel beats him. Hopefully that won't be Jeff Jarrett. My pick: AJ Styles
Triple Threat Match for the NWA TNA X Division Title: The Fallen Angel Christopher Daniels(c) vs. Chris Sabin w/Trinity(?) vs. Michael Shane w/ Traci. Now is DEFINITELY not the time to end Christopher Daniels awesome run with the X title. The guy to end his run should be Elix Skipper. This could be match of the night, and quite possibly a MOTYC, so hopefully the valets don't get too involved and screw up the finish. My pick: Daniels, VIA SUPER ANGEL'S WINGS BITCHES!
Tag Team Match For The NWA World Tag Team Titles: The Naturals(c) w/? vs. Team Canada w/ Scott D'Amore. Well the Naturals are kind of being built up as the underdogs here, and it seems they've got an ace in the hole with their new mentor. And no its not going to be Tammy you silly geese. They've already referred to their new mentor as a "HE". Whoever it is, I think he will show up in this match and help the Naturals retain their titles. Once again, not time for another hotshot title change. My pick: The Naturals retain their titles.
Tag Team Match: AMW vs. 3LK (Konnan and B.G. James). Winner of this match should be the #1 contenders for the tag team titles for the next monthly PPV. This one's a little hard to call since their is discord with both teams. Though they seem to be hinting at break-ups with 3LK and AMW. Well seeing as to how AMW is so awesome they shouldn't break up just yet. And since 3LK sucks...they should be the ones to break up. AMW picks up the win to put off their possible break-up for a while longer. Or maybe the outcome of a victory will just drive a rift even further. My pick: AMW
Grudge Singles Match: The Outlaw vs. Ron Killings. Oy vey, they had to pick up Monty Sapp didn't they? Anyway, my prediction is that B.G. James will make his presence known and "accidentally" give The Outlaw the victory. Is a NAO reunion down the road? My pick: Dumbass Billy Gunn
Grudge Singles Match: Lance Hoyt vs. Bobby Roode. Might be a decent/power big man match if anything. Either way, not expecting much out of this one. I think Hoyt will come back and claim victory after his beating on the last episode of IMPACT on FSN. My Pick: If Test is the poor man's Kevin Nash, than Lance Hoyt is the PO' man's Test. Lance Hoyt.
Debut Match: Samoa Joe vs. Sonjay Dutt! This will be former ROH Champion, Samao Joe's, first NWA TNA match. Needless to say, Joe will more than likely come out on top. Sonjay apparently didn't know he was going to compete in this match until he heard about it in an interview. Poor Sonjay, he's going to get destroyed. My Pick: Samoa Joe.
Returning Superstar Match: Alex Shelley vs. Shocker. Well I got to see a couple Shelley matches recently (against Hydro), and I like what I've seen. Its great that he's back in TNA during this crucial and important rebuilding/re-establishing period. My Pick: Shelley
6-Way X Division Match: Elix Skipper vs. Amazing Red(!) vs. Delirious vs. Tenacious Z vs. Sharkboy vs. Jerrelle Clark. Amazing Red returns! FUG YEAH! Does anyone know if this match is elminination rules or is it first pin wins? Skipper needs to win this match and face the winner of the X division 3-way at the next PPV. And then Skipper defeats Daniels in a classic match to win his first X title! My Pick: Elix Skipper
Sean Waltman is officially the wildcard opponent for the King Of The Mountain Match on Sunday. That makes me sad .
There are also rumors that Jeff Jarrett will NOT be in the match according to PWI.
You can now watch 2 new episodes of XPLOSION in that link. From what I've seen so far, they recap the matches from the last 2 episodes of IMPACT to hype up Slammiversary on Sunday. These are nice, but TNA should be putting this on their official website and elsewhere to hype up the show better.

I think the difference betwen the Rock and, say, Austin and HHH, is how they were brought up. Rock jobbed his entire way to the main event as both a face and a heel. Austin, on the other hand, got to the main event by not losing a lot.
