Looks like this is the closest TNA has come yet in their endless negotiations trying to get on TV. Supposedly, they will tape the show at Universal in Florida. If they do actually make it on the air, do you think they should take the old WCW risk and jump in on a 9pm Monday timeslot? Everyone thought it was ridiculous when WCW did, and they went on to become the most successful wrestling compnay in the world for about 2 years, defeating RAW 80-some weeks in a row.
Well if they don't repeat WCW's mistake of taping THREE MONTHS WORTH OF SHOWS at a Central Florida theme park, then it'll be a good start. However, how many people do you know that have Fox Sports? At least in the Central Florida area you have to have satellite or digital cable to get Fox Sports, as the basic cable package does not offer it.
2) TNA is NOWHERE near ready for Monday nights. NO WAY. Yes WCW took the Monday spot and actually became the #2 then #1 then #2 company in U.S. but they had already been on free TV and built a good size audience. TNA has been on PPV, not the same thing. TNA hasn't been seen by people who have not paid to see it. (Not counting their syndicated show).
3)Isn't taping wrestling shows at Universal Studios in Florida Hulk Hogan's game plan back when he tried to make his own company?
4)I would be happy if TNA gets a TV deal, and I would watch but too bad my local cable company doesn't offer FOX Sports so I am SOL, hell I am still trying to get them to air the 24 hours of regular broadcasting that GSN offers, right now they only offer 4pm to 6am, making me miss out on a lot of classics.

Actually it's been said on a bunch of websites lately. But hell, really doesn't make it true. Only time will tell.

No way does TNA go the Nitro route. At least when Monday Nitro first went on the air, WCW and the WWF had comparable products and starpower. TNA has good wrestling on occasion, but nowhere near the starpower that WCW had in '95. Putting TNA in the same time slot as RAW would be begging to get killed in the ratings. Even assuming that enough people could watch it, what with it being on freakin' Fox Sports and all.

From what I saw in a report two days ago, they would do tapings on Fridays, I don't know if these would air live or not plus one PPV on a Sunday each month.
I'm all for more wrestling on TV. so i'm hoping this deal goes through.
Fox does it again. Another good show down the drain.
The problem is there probably wouldn't BE a set time slot across the board.
Fox Sports Net would always give priority to their live major league sports schedules, so if TNA was put in a prime time slot, it would be pre-empted quite a bit. Also, since Fox Sports is actually a cluster of regional networks, it's possible they would each set their own time slot for the show.
So unless they do a Saturday morning or late-night type deal, I imagine "check your local listings and check them weekly" would be mandatory.
True. Here, even tho I have Digital Cable with the Sports Package, the Fox Sports is only 3 channels shared by the 20 Fox stations and they don't even follow their own listings. I'll set the TIVO to tape a program listed and the cable folks will decide at the last minute to switch to another Fox station rather than the one they had listed on screen that day. It is very frustrating. I seriously need to go satellite...
I think it's a wise move if it can go through ... it gives them a broader exposure ... I mean I'd like to watch the product weekly, but I don't wanna shell out $10 a week to watch it ...
And while it may never give Vince & Co. any major competition, it'll be good to at least have a somewhat stronger #2 rival.
I've heard about this for a while now, and i would love it. Yeah it would get bumped quite a bit for other sports, but why not let it have BDSSP slot on a Tue or Wed night. That would rock, and even though i doubt it would happen, what if Fox were to air a prime time special one night?

Here's an interesting thought-- what if the Fox Sports deal went through but TNA managed to get picked up by TNT or TBS? Would that bring up troubles with Fusient? (sp?) From all accounts the reason they backed out of buying WCW was that Nitro and Thunder got cancelled because AOL/Time Warner didn't want wrestling on their TV schedule anymore.

I'm HOPING to get word from both TNA and Fox on the latest news on the deal for the next Wrestling News Central Report (which you can read in the Guest Columns section if you haven't already) this weekend. Keep your eyes peeled anyway.
