It's a pretty big step up from having Jeff Jarrett booking himself as champ, but Dusty can't do WORSE, right?

On another plus, taping IMPACT bi-weekly and still paying them for both shows is a nice gesture AND it'll cut production costs.

Things are looking good for them, it seems.

Apparently they were losing $50,000 doing the tapings every week so now with every two weeks they are losing LESS money but I'm sure its still alot. This company still is not drawing anyone at all to see their shows so I don't know how you could say that "Things are looking good for them, it seems." Things look horrible to me. You have Nash and Hall running wild doing whatever they want. You have Savage who blew them off and ran away from Hogan only to have TNA beg for him to come back and give him everything he wants.

As far as Dusty with the book I think it could be fine just because I don't even think Dusty has the balls to book himself as champ again.

How much power does Dusty really yield?

He controls the book over Hall, Nash, Savage, and probably Jarret, whom probably hold creative rights to their characters.

Dusty the obvious answer to TNA:

Dustin Rhodes, world champion.

I know you're just joking... But DAMN, that gave me a chill anyway. The stuff of night terrors, that is!

Regarding their money losses, these guys are putting on shows with relatively high production values and drawing crowds like NWA Florida (who wasn't able to fill a small night club in Ybor City earlier this month). I don't have exact figures for what they're losing now, but like BWT said, it can't be pretty.

Any thoughts on how long they can keep going with money flowing negatively like blood from a cut to the femoral artery?

Well, taking the book from Double J is a step in the right direction, no doubt. But we all know that Rhodes doesn't have a good track record as a booker.

What's scary to me is that TNA, supposedly the number two wrestling organization in America, runs in only one city, and has run in only three cities in two and a half years. I don't know why they book back to back PPVs in Orlando, but that's just me. I really do wish them success, even though I constantly blast them.

His track record has some rather large blemishes, but in terms of wrestlers as bookers, Dusty isn't awful. He was a driving force in the Satanic Cult vs. Bikers/Texans angle that made Florida hot in the early 80's, he devised WarGames:The Match Beyond, and Crockett did outlive the other regional organizations with Dusty at the helm as Executive Producer. Dusty's main problem is when Dusty's ego gets in the way. Considering his advancing age, I doubt he's going to turn the company into revolving around his quest for a 4th NWA Title reign. And hopefully he has forgotten about writing amnesia angles.
Over/under established on Meng/Haku as well as Barry Darsow appearing on Impact?

Still waiting patiently for Game 8 of the Red Sox/Yankee series.

You're sadly misinformed about Dusty Rhodes. I'm assuming you're referring to the Scott Keith jabs at Rhodes' booking himself as the biggest thing since Jesus, and the battles with Flair... However, if you're willing to look past some of his previous self-serving moves, which will be VERY difficult to get away with at his current age - you'll find that Rhodes has done good things. He's extremely inovative, and is ALWAYS open to new ideas. His big on old school promos, and knows how to build up a match.

I'm open to this move.

On the other hand, Dusty, even if on his game, doesn't have a lot to work with right now. Dusty, Heyman, and Watts combined couldn't book away the 10, 000 pound corpse of a Nash/Hall/Jarrett V.S. The World feud. And this is going to be one of those seamless booker transitions, I assume, and not a "re-branding" type situation.

Well, what I was referring to was what I have read from a number of places about Rhodes' booking. Basically, I read that he booked himself and his close buddies (some of whom were made out to be real stiffs, from what I read) into the Main Event all of the time, just like many other wrestler/bookers have in the past. Certainly, he might do a very good job, and I'll admit that I've never seen first hand his booking stlye. He may be a fantastic booker, and if he is, consider me dead wrong about him.

Flush that show down the toilet! Aries' promo was of course great as was Roode's but otherwise nothing above mildly engaging. Even the KO's were just there. I love Madison Rayne & she did her best to save the match, but VelVel is the Kelly Kelly of TNA....
