I have seen a rumor -- no credible source, grain of salt, etc. -- that Tommy Dreamer is part of the creative team now. If that's true, it might have an effect already on what we're seeing, especially on a show where Bischoff isn't there (nor, I think, Hogan, pre-taped segment with Nash notwithstanding).
Either that, or Dreamer's just coming up with his own segments. "Okay, we all stroll in an hour late. Then, nachos!"

Re: the MCMGs, don't get the new TNA DVD set they put out. It's less a "best of MCMGs" and more "a random assortment of matches that happen to have the MCMGs in them." Want Chris Sabin jobbing to Brutus Magnus in a singles match? Or a bunch of multiple-man matches where the Guns aren't the focus and get eliminated early? Hate tag team matches and funny promos? Then this is the set for you!
TNA rarely, if ever, gives 11 minutes to a non main event match on TV. I don’t think that was by accident.
It wasn't, though it wasn't the original plan. The Observer said they were told they were getting only 4 or 6 minutes and both complained about it, thinking it way too short for a match between them. TNA took out a segment where they challenged each other to set up the match and gave the match that extra time.
Interesting. I don't know about you, but I would love for this to become a trend. Let's do away with the 10 minute promo confrontation, and just give more time to the actual match. I hate when the set up is longer than the match itself. Or set it up one week with a promo, and have the match NEXT week. Or am I just too old school?

Ditto - sounds like a reputable organization worthy of my support.
As a person relatively unfamiliar with MCMG, do they have other funny promos like that?
The Motor City Machine Guns (or MCMG) can be found easily enough on YouTube. If just a regular search doesn't work then try Motor City Machine guns and TNA Today (TNA's internet show), they have been guests on that a lot and they are usually pretty funny. Or you could just search for Alex Shelley. Sabin has gotten a lot better but Shelley is the best.
Hurrah for allmusic.com! While it doesn't give all the information, I am happy to inform you that "the Wrestling Album" made it all the way up to #84 in 1986, while "Piledriver" peaked out at #123 in 1987.
