The quick and dirty for TNA Impact 11.13.08 - "Christian Gets Made" -->

- Foley starts off the show by saying that he was embarrased by the TNA Originals. This then morphs into a full promo as Mick calls the Originals out to ringside. Foley gets offended by Alex Shelley picking his nose and promises to deal with him next week. He plays motivator for the rest of the crew, putting AJ/Joe in a Tag Title Match and Black Machismo in a World Title match. We know how that's gonna turn out.

- Meanwhile, MEM try to induct Cage into their fold by giving him a suite. Cage tosses the suit away. Nash wants to powerbomb Lauren. Why? I'm not sure.

- ODB announces a new talk show starting next week. She also calls Lauren "Sugar Tits." Funny, but I don't see it leading to anything good. The Beautiful People should have a show and give forced makeovers to TNA stars who they feel are ugly, now that would be cool.

Match #1: Awesome Kong and Rhaka Khan over Taylor Wilde and Roxxi when Kong pins Roxxi with the Implant Buster in about 5 mins.

- MCMG cut a borderline heel promo, saying AJ/Joe need to win at any cost in order to maintain their positions as the leaders of the Originals.

- Raeesha Saeed threatens to unleash Kong on "innocent civilians" unless Traci can find her some suitable competition.

X-Division Championship: Eric Young over Sheik Abdul Bashir via DVD in about 4 mins. Finally they pull the switch on Shane Sewell. This match was bullshit, however, and only further blackens the image of the X-Division title.

- Eric celebrates with the Originals. They need some abbreviation like MEM, but TNAO or TO just doesn't have a ring to it. One down, two to go, says Eric.

- Petey Williams wants to talk to Steiner, but MEM runs him off.

Match #3: Scott Steiner over Rhino via Exploder in about 5 mins. Eh. Your average Impact TV match. What is Rhino's beef with the MEM again?

- Sting points out the differences between boys and men. Sting's promo work has really grown on me over the past few weeks. But I agree with K, the face paint must go.

World Title: Sting over Jay Lethal via Scorpion Death Drop in about 10 mins. The real story here was MCMG cheating to give Lethal a winning chance, Lethal refusing to get the dirty win, instead taking a clean loss. The match was alright, but this was here more for the Gun's attitude change and adding a new dynamic to the story.

- A fight nearly breaks out in the Originals' ranks, and cavalry has to be called to calm everyone down. Yes, even ODB is there to calm them down. You know that's messed up. Elsewhere, Petey Williams is KNOCKED THE FUCK OUT!

- Beer Money grace my screen for some backstage promo time. They have a new shirt. I'm in love with this team.

Tag Titles: AJ Styles/Samoa Joe over Beer Money via DQ (Beer) in about 12 mins Fun match. Beer Money have consistently been the best performers on Impact.

- The Beautiful People want Sarah Palin on their side. They promise to give $50K to a charity of her choice. Moreover, they want her to join so she knows how it is to be a part of winning team. BURN~!

Main Event Interview: Angle welcomes Christian into the MEM family. He tries to teach him some family values, but questions his commitment to TNA over the pending contract issue. Angle says this meeting is not really an induction, but a farewell. Cage tries to take on them gamely, but they beat his ass seven ways from Sunday, taking turns to hit all their finishers, leaving him lying.

** Wrestling Counter: 36 minutes.

**I'm still loving the storyline. It's being developed surprisingly beautifully. The promos was great today, so was the new dynamic with the Guns. I still think Christian's rumoured move is a work, but they've got me hooked. And that's the first time in many many months of TNA that I've been able to say that.

If the Christian move is a work, it's monumentally dumb to position one of the top babyfaces as having discussions with WWE.

Yes, it is. But look at the flip side: if he is in talks with the WWE, and there is a chance of him leaving, then it is more monumentally stupid to mention it on TV.

If Christian's move is not a work, then I'd like to think that this was TNA's attempt of writing him out of the storyline till the contract mess is sorted out. They'll certainly not want a repeat of the Gail Kim scenario, where she was on TV one week, and gone north the next. In any case, I'd have preferred the MEM to beat him down without mentioning the E.

I don't think it's a work, but I think it can go either way at this point. Either way, though, I don't see why they're framing it this way. Why not set it up so that if Christian leaves, the MEM can take credit for running him out of town?

Also I am annoyed that Sting didn't participate in the Cage beatdown. C'mon, Sting, you can do it -- he's only named Christian, dude.

Good Lord, how could it? I mean, I'm an ODB fan and all but a little goes a pretty long way.

Team KHANG (say it like a sound effect!) is a pretty good use of Rhaka, hiding her weaknesses and all. I guess I approve, although it seems like it would be a more useful way of occupying Kong if she didn't have the belt. I am intrigued by Raisha's call for new competition for Kong -- will we see a new debut or two? (Or are we just setting up the return of Moose?)

They've got to reverse the X Division title switch, right? Man, they shoulda just given the belt to Rhino. And then oh hey! Scott Steiner could've won it tonight! Oh, man, that would be awesome.

And I don't have a problem with Bashir, per se, but I've never said "Oh boy! A Bashir match!" either. I guess they wanted the title off of him so they could run the Shane Sewell angle. Okay, here's what sucks: Bashir was just holding the X Title until they found something better for him to do. That's how little it means.

Beer Money is, yeah, pretty great.

You know what's fun? Calling Shelley and Sabin "Wentz" and "Stump." Ah ha ha.

I think Christian going back to the 'E benefits everyone. He gets more money for, at worst, being in the same position on the card that he has been all year, and TNA don't feel obligated to push him at the expense of Joe, AJ et al. If he stays, he'll be positioned as THE babyface opponent of the MEM, alongside Jarrett and Foley. And for an angle that's supposed to be all about getting the TNA Originals like the MCMGs, Joe, AJ and Lethal, that's just not good.

I am confused. If the Christian to WWE scenario is a work, and he chooses to stay in TNA, how is bad for the company if he chooses them over WWE? I do agree it's dumb if he really is on his way to WWE.

Because they've acknowledged that he was even talking to them, after spending the last two years telling us how stupid the 'E is. And because, whether tacitly or outright, the implication will be that Christian WAS going to WWE until the MEM beat him up so bad that he had to get revenge.

What's CRZ's #1 rule of Wrestling? "If it's on TV, it's a work." (or something like that...)

I'm seeing this as the way Matt Hardy was brought back to the WWE and telling people on screen that he was going to Ring Of Honor. Remember how that ended up? He's more popular then ever.

As for Sting not getting in on the beating, I hope it's because he himself has been on the 'business end' of quite a few of those thanks to, well just about EVERYONE, that he just didn't have the heart to do it to someone else for once.

It's a good way to leave it open for him to later on go back to being a good guy again without getting his hands dirty.

Yet again, TNA gives me the more enjoyable wrestling show of the week. I hope they can keep it up.

I guess that is possible, but that might be reading too much into it. He hasn't signed a new contract with TNA, which makes me think he considers TNA as a viable option equal to WWE, perhaps in the storyline and in real life. Plus, Christian chose to come to TNA, he wasn't a so called "WWE reject". But it is certainly debatable.

I thought it was "If it's NOT on TV, it's NOT a work", no? Lots of "real life" stuff ends up on TV all the time.

I think this still has a chance to go either way.

I hope it is a work, as it has made Christian interesting for the first time in months.

He also had a good run with Jericho, but I'm not sure that's what Jericho needs right now.

Would this be the first major defection from TNA? I mean the first real one WWE fans would notice.

At the very least he would be the first big star to leave, go to TNA and then return. That would be an interesting scenario, as would Vince push Christian as a sign to others that if they return they will be treated well, or would he get the 1989 Barry Windham treatment, where he did well as a tag wrestler in the WWF, did even better as a singles wrestler in the NWA, then went back to the WWF where he was stuck with the Widowmaker gimmick.

Wouldn't that still be sort of a demotion for Edge though? We are supposed to think that both Edge and Christian have graduated from the tag team wrestling of the past (like the Hardys minus the occassional tagging). I think for Edge to go from fighting for world titles to revisiting the glory days of 1999 is not a good thing.

So basically I hope that Christian and his stupid hand signal stays in TNA, far away from Edge.

I don't think it would happen like that. They're not going to be playing kazoos or talking about how awesome little umbrellas in drinks are. Though I do wish that were the case. It'd probably be somewhere in between Rated RKO or Christian playing the early 2008 Chavo role. (More likely the latter.)

It's probably too much to ask that a reunited Edge-Christian would be treated like a heel version of DX. Then again, E/C vs. the Hardys or DX at Wrestlemania would be pretty fun.

It probably says something about the low quality of the TNA broadcast that most of the thread has been speculating about Christian in WWE rather than what happened on the actual Impact.
