Good lord, StaggerLee - we must have posted the results at the same time.

I decided to catch the card at a local MegaCinemaPlex; and the crowd was really good. In fact, there was a great amount of cheering when Sheamus won. I like the guy, but the name has to go.

With Sheamus as the world title holder, and McIntyre as the IC title holder, Finley should get a title or something.

John Morrison was awesome in his match against Drew McIntyre. He may have lost but he looked strong throughout the match. If they ran a program between the two, I wouldn't complain.

Undertaker vs. Batista was very puzzling. First, Batista beats the Taker with a chairshot after a low blow, but after the pinfall and apparent victory, Teddy Long reverses the decision, and starts the match up, leading to the Undertaker winning. What?

Kofi Kingston looked very convincing in his match against Randy Orton; and I would be surprized if he's not wearing one of the major titles within a year. He was great charisma...but at the same time, I keep thinking he'd make a kickass heel.

I didn't catch the womens title match. I wanted popcorn.

DX vs. JeriShow was the main event of the evening. Great, fun match.

All in all, I went out to do my Christmas shopping, and decided to catch the card because I spent less than I planned (coincidence? I think not! hahah!) and I wasn't disappointed.

World Champion Sheamus.

I'm done with this company. After getting nothing but apathy since his debut, they gave that clown the World Title. Unbelievable. At least he's a wrestler. That's...something, right?

The rest of the show wasn't any better. They STOPPED the opener for blood, they overturned the results of a Chair Match over a ballshot, and they gave DX the tag titles. It's pretty much every nightmare scenario come true, which is too bad because the actual wrestling was solid. It's a huge shame.

Didn't Sheamus debut like a month ago? Quickest power play to the Main Event eva!!!

Jerishow vs. DX was quite fun. Triple H holding up the ladder rung while Shawn climbed was kinda "awww" sweet. I didn't even catch the rest of the show as I haven't had a Sunday night off since July and forgot that I could actually watch a PPV on it's debut night.

In kayfabe world, John Morrison must be pretty pissed that Teddy didn't come to reverse HIS title loss.

Putting the belt on Sheamus is a no lose situation. If somehow it works, they've elevated someone new and it might give them the motivation to further add new members to the main event scene. If it fails, they have several options already available. Plus, it is around X-Mas slowdown, so it isn't like they are putting the belt on Sheamus and then telling him he's main eventing Mania next month.

Thank God someone else gets it.

Sheamus as WWE champ is great. It's something they have never done before, and there's no logical kayfabe reason why the champion wouldn't occasionally run up against a rookie who has his number. I'm sure he'll drop the belt fairly quickly, but I think this'll work out fine.

I thought this was a solid PPV with some very surprising results. And I think it sets up the Rumble pretty well. Raw has boatload of former champions now, so it will be very interesting to see how the #1 contender plays out between now and mania.

I loved the announcing crew even though Cole was in the middle.

The Cena/Sheamus match ending was weird - did he just fall off of the rope? Didn't look like Sheamus pushed him at all.

I thought Shelton/Christian was the match of the night until the DX/Jerishow match. Surprisingly awesome TLC match for two 40+ year olds and a mobility-challenged giant.

- Sheamus is WWE Champ
- Kofi Kingston's momentum is killed
- One of the most entertaining tag teams in recent memory jobs to one of the most un-entertaining tag teams in history
- Undertaker makes a rare appearance to keep the title off a guy who actually shows up every week and has a, you know, actual storyline

Fabulous. I was looking for a reason not to watch WWE during the busy holiday season. Many thanks, WWE!

P.S. Wake me when the Rumble gets here and HHH picks 1 and wins the thing...I can't wait for that part.

Yeah, I am in the middle on this. I am glad the WWE pushed younger guys, but not those young guys. Orton doesn't need to go back to the title hunt since he was pretty awful this year while being champ. Sheamus as champ could be good or really bad, no in between there. I hope Morrison moves on the IC title, but I am sure there will be a rubber match. Elimination Chamber, I believe comes before The Rumble, so they may change titles there as well. I am not loving Christian being cleaned up during his match for blood.

If Jericho doesn't get the tag belt back or move into a world title picture in the next month, it is a bad move. If it just means Jericho regains the belt on the rematch clause with either his current or a replacement partner, then it is meaningless. And, if it is a means to move Jericho into a title match against Taker at Rumble, then it really works. As for the guy who actually shows up every week, I thought Taker faced Batista and his every few months surgical injury.

I hated this show. I know now what Michael Scott felt like as hurt, petulant Jesus with my feet on the desk and a live mic, because I'm gonna rip on TLC.

To me, every match was offensive in some way, the booking was horrible, the execution was embarrassing. Now, I don't have the slightest clue of how to run a multi-million dollar global sports entertainment promotion. But I know what makes sense to me as a paying customer, and nothing I saw last night did.

Let's start with Sheamus. I get it, it's new and surprising. They've never let a raw rookie become WWE Champion before. It's a new story. Well, there's a REASON you don't tell that story. Because it's stupid. And if you HAD to tell that stupid story, Sheamus is not the right guy to do it with.

Here's what I saw last night: Sheamus' job was to be a destroyer, a physical juggernaut coming after John Cena, no slouch himself for physicality. Two minutes into the match, Sheamus was completely blown up. I mean he turned into a 275 lb sack of peeled red potatoes that Cena had to literally carry around. He looked less like a destroyer and more like a drunk stumbling on the sidewalk. Cena throws him into the steel steps 3 minutes into the match and Sheamus hurt his shoulder. Could barely get off the arena floor. Oh, there was still 10 minutes to go. About 6 minutes into the match, Cena suplexed him on the ramp, where Sheamus rather obviously hurt his lower back. So now he's blown up, his shoulder hurts, and his lower back hurts. Then they have to fight amongst the crowd and Sheamus has NOTHING. Can barely throw a punch and Cena is literally dragging him around the arena. They get back into the ring, Cena hits an FU and Sheamus falls asleep. He was practically snoring, folded like an accordion underneath the bottom rope.

I remember at the end of WrestleMania X, Bret Hart won the WWF Title from Yokozuna and was out of it in the middle of the ring afterwards before he got up. Sheamus won the WWE Title asleep in the corner. The final spot in the corner was hilarious. Sheamus was barely awake, barely gives Cena a pitful shove off the corner and Cena THROWS HIMSELF through the table, while Sheamus simultaneously falls off the ringpost to the floor. And he's WWE Champion, for which he's suddenly awake to celebrate.

It was horrendous, insulting and perversely entertaining because how could anyone in their right mind watching that match in the back go ahead with the planned finish judging from how the guy picked to go over was performing. How does Vince McMahon see Sheamus stink up the joint and not call an audible, keep the belt on Cena, and decide to come up with a new plan for RAW? But no, Vince McMahon went ahead and put the MOST PRESTIGIOUS, IMPORTANT TITLE IN ALL OF WRESTLING - not the World Heavyweight Title but the WWE TITLE - on Sheamus.

Drew McIntyre wins the Intercontinental Title from John Morrison. Dolph Ziggler had what, 5 tries, couldn't do it. McIntyre walks in the door and does it. Fine, whatever.

What I learned last night was tenure means nothing in WWE. A guy like Shelton Benjamin for example, a great performer, a physical marvel, has been busting his ass for the company for 7+ years and can't even go over for the meaningless ECW Title. Guys like him, at least a couple of dozen names, get passed over so Drew McIntyre and Sheamus can walk in and become champions. Why? Because they're BIG (Drew) and BIG AND JACKED (Sheamus). AND they're NEW. Ooh, they're so NEW! They've proven nothing to no one, but they're major champions.

TLC already lost me when they called A TIME OUT 2 minutes into the ladder match because Christian was bleeding hardway. There are NO TIME OUTS in wrestling! But they stopped the match! A ladder match! Because of a little blood! It's ridiculous. Shelton and Christian seemed off for the rest of the match. Timing was off, execution was off. They tried but they couldn't put it together completely. It was still the best match of the night, but that's not saying much.

Orton vs. Kofi. Oh my God. What the fuck?! They managed to kill the momentum of Orton vs. Kingston feud with a near heatless match where Orton, the heel, won honorably and cleanly after an pre-match angle where Legacy had Kofi surrounded in the locker room and honorably didn't attack him. What?

Let's get this straight, after weeks of trying to kill each other, Kofi accepts a tainted, fake, bullshit victory last week on RAW thanks to Mark Cuban. Suddenly he no longer seems so angry at Orton. When they finally have their big PPV match, Orton slaps on a fucking chinlock in the first minute of the match. Kofi should have been a house of fire chasing Orton around the ring and trying to kill him - you know, like he did at MSG. They HATE each other! Right? Instead, the story that played out was Randy Orton, the heel, wore out Kofi, the no longer angry or righteous babyface, and beat him decisively in the ring with his finisher. Kofi didn't come "this close", he caved under the superior Orton, who needed no help and proved he was the better man. What the fuck?!

Women's Title match. After weeks of calling Mickie "Piggy James", McCool then proved her point with a decisive victory. Great booking. Mickie got NO measure of revenge and McCool beat her with a kick and proved she was better after all. Brilliant.

How about when Undertaker and Batista having their worst match together, where Undertaker seemingly lost the World Title to Batista in the chair match after not once using the chair. Then Teddy Long restarts the match because Batista used a low blow that Undertaker hilariously sold like Batista shoved his scrotum into his kidneys. Undertaker then won with the Tombstone after the pussiest chairshot he's ever thrown.

How about the TLC match itself, where DX and Jerishow seemingly went out of their way to not use ladders, tables, and chairs. Show throws himself over the barricade 30 seconds into the match and falls into bolivion. Then Triple H disappears. At the end of the match, they break the ladder and despite there being SEVERAL OTHER ladders at ringside, they still all decide to use half a ladder and have the other guy hold it up. Except when Jericho decided to stand on Show's shoulders to try to reach the belts, except he couldn't because if he let go of Show's hands, he'd fall. (What great ideas! Because they're NEW!) Then DX both got up after the ladder sandwich, conchairto and being thrown through a table, all miraculously hulked up. Happy ending in San Antonio with DX winning was fine and expected. The execution was awful.

There was absolutely no logic or reality to anything they were doing. That goes for not just the TLC match but the TLC PPV as a whole.

It's hard to say because 2009 had so many bad PPVs but this might have been the worst show of the year.

I still can't believe that Sheamus is the new WWE Champion (this may be one of the biggest swirves and unexpected results in recent memory). I like that someone unexpected is the champion however, I am a bigger fan of Jack Swagger who I think has more tools overall and has not even got the US belt to his claim. I heard that they may not elevate Jack Swagger (which is too confusing for me right now) but none-the-less, this may be the most talked about match this year.

No surprise with Drew McIntyre winning the IC belt as he has been appointed the future champion of the company.

I didn't get a chance to watch the PPV but it seemed like a pretty good PPV with the elevation of some people (including Kofi even though he lost). Based on what I read about the Batista/ Undertaker match, I probably would have been scratching my head also.

DX are the new champs and I predicted them to win based on the history that HBK/Triple H have never won the tag titles together; Jeri-Show mentioned that DX have never won the tag titles (did they exclude that the New Age Outlaws were a part of DX and had the titles?). In any case, I hope this means that Jeri-Show could be splitting up.

In any case, should I mention again how surprising it is to have Sheamus as the new WWE Champion?

I can't say that, because the two ladder matches were very good, but it was certainly the most WTF show of the year. I'm a big benefit of the doubt guy, but man. Sheamus and Drew McIntyre, talk about a couple of hot acts. Sheamus won the world's championship of wrestling when the champion slipped off the top rope and landed on a thing. There's a reason that the world title (or any title?) hasn't changed hands in a table match before, and it is because that is stupid.

Low blow, wow. Undertaker really has been one of the best wrestlers in the company over the last three years, but he has no business being champion. He tries but he just can't will his body to do it right now.

The blood stoppage mantra is lame but we already knew that was the official procedure after Bragging Rights. Shelton/Christian was pretty great. I wish they'd stop putting DX in the brutality! matches like HIAC and TLC because they're not going to have the matches they should be, and probably don't need to at this point. But there was some innovative stuff and a really cool ending. DX winning is fine because it was in San Antonio and if Jeribigshow don't win the belts back by the Rumble, I'll eat your newspaper.

Gotta agree with John Q for the most part. This PPV was an overall miss for me. Although, I never stated it, I hoped for virtually every outcome.

With that said, I think the execution was way off last night.

Shelton & Christian - Poorly timed/planned spotfest. With every move you could see Christian and Shelton calling the spot to each other. Seems like they weren't trying to hide it at all. The camera's being close up to their faces prior to setting up the spot didn't help this. Solid bump at the end of the match though. Shelton has to be feeling that one today.

Morrison and the Lovely Ms. Tracker's boyfriend, was pretty decent. I'm fine with that match overall. Teddy Long interfering with that match at the end would have been crazier than the UT situation. The shot to Morrison's face when the ref's back was turned was a perfectly legal open hand slap to the face....although it Cole called it a cheap shot or something to that effect.

Cena & Sheamus - I actually wanted to Sheamus to win this match for the something new thing. However, this Table match was what Bossman was to Hell in a Cell. Why the hell was Cena struggling to pick up a table? He was not on the end of any seriously damaging move that he needed to sell. The guy can pick the entire Raw roster on his shoulders, but can't pick up a fake table? Very slow table match

UT & Batista - Horrible, Knew this going in. I mean what the heck is a "Chairs" match anyways... Although it was explained, thought it was a stupid concept. Expected more out of this.

Mickie and Michelle, thought this would be good, so I didn't use the restroom... I should of went pee instead.

Kofi & Randy - I expected Randy to win, however the way the story played out, Kofi looks like a one hit wonder. I enjoyed the wrestling for the most part, but this didn't help Kofi.

Dx & Jerishow - I enjoyed this match. I did expect more bumps incorporating Big Show's size though. Easily not the best TLC ever. I was entertained though. Show catching Michael from the ladder was pretty impressive (although Show was probably supposed to fall a lot faster). Line of the night in this show was (Cole?) "Big Show doesn't do anything fast." Second only to Cole not paying attention that Michaels was on his way up to the entrance ramp when he stated "...and, Michaels is nowhere to be found after that hit......Oh there he is..."

I'm glad my friend decided to host this one at his house and refused to let me chip in. At least it didn't cost me anything! Maybe my expectations were to high because of the nature of the matches. In either case, I walked away thinking this one was a dud.

Sheamus looked good with the belt, but the match (and the ending) was sh*t! I actually think it was supposed to be a double table spot screwjob finish, but the table Sheamus was supposed to go trough just didn't break! Did anyone else catch that as well or am I mistaken? They didn't show any replays, but Sheamus landed on something and there was a (not broken) table by his side!

The ECW title match was great, but what else could it have been with Shelton and Christian in it? Some great spots in this one! I hope next year will somehow be Christian's breaktrough year, but I still doubt it. Winning Money in the Bank could be a great first step. Cashing it in on the same night at Wrestlemania would be even greater (dreaming again).

I'm actually fine with D-X winning the tag belts. They - as a tag team - deserve to be the champions! They should have been the champs years ago! But now I hope they will use these belts to really put somebody (like The Hart Dynasty) over ... which of course won't happen!

Yes, I'm back! I know, I said I would never ever watch that crap again, but ... I just can't live without it, I guess.
