Miz and Morrison won the RAW tag titles by beating Punk and Kofi tonight at a house show.

I guess this:

-- continues their mega push

-- gets the tag belt off Punk so he can win the IC title

This is The Miz's second WWE championship and fourth championship overall in his career; in addition to previously winning the WWE Tag Team Championship with Morrison, he's a former holder of the DSW Heavyweight Championship and the OVW Southern Tag Team Championship.

For Morrison, it's his first World Tag Team Championship, eighth title reign in WWE and ninth career championship; in addition to the WWE Tag Team Title reign with Miz he also won the belt three times with Joey Mercury; he's a two-time Intercontinental Champion and one-time former ECW Champion. He also won the OVW Southern Tag Team Championship with Mercury.

Well, SheltonPunk didn't keep the belts, and M&M V.2 did. So this is probably the right way, unless you pull Ted Jr. and re-Priceless the belts. Plus Morrisson, et al. deserve to be on Raw with real reason behind it.

Meh, three weeks from now all that will matter is who the champs are, not how.

I was at the card: it was pretty sweet. The crowd was expecting a, how shall we call it, a Sportz Entertainment of sorts.

Still pretty cool, though: I was the only one in my group that was cheering for Miz and Morrison.

A lot of times having the belts does a lot for the person holding them, in this case I think Miz and Morrison are doing more for the belts and the division.

That's good for the tag division, and I love these guys, but when is Morrison finally going to get pushed?? He has the look of a star, the in ring skills, and his mic work has greatly improved over the last year. I know he was suspended last year, but come on.

With 3 main eventers who are ready for the Hall of Fame now, when are they going to give the ball to this guy? As much as HHH, HBK, and Taker are criticized, if they walked away, or were forced to retire, all the E has left is Cena to carry the load.

I presume you meant "when is Morrison going to get a big solo push?" (You certainly can't much complain about the overall push he's been getting as part of the tag team.)

I say "Long Term Project", which is a much better position than "Flavour of the Month" or "Next Big Thing".

He's got merch. (By WWE standards, that's a pretty sweet T-shirt (wweshop.com)!) He's getting ring time with big names. He's getting tons of promo time. Short of getting hand-picked for Evolution, he's getting pretty much the best possible long term career development path possible.

Give it time.

Those are good points, but I don't think we agree on how much he is actually being pushed, and how far he SHOULD be pushed. Being top dog in a division that barely exists and is not taken seriously by the company doesn't mean much IMO. I see no problem with bringing guys along, and not forcing things, but this guy was IC champ several times two and half years ago. He gets matches with big names, but he always loses. Why can't he even steal one (TM Michael Cole) from the big names, which would do wonders for his career? If the tag division was thriving, I would be all for it because I love tag wrestling. But when the division is a joke, I see it as a waste of both guys.

I have no problem with a Main Event tag team. He's gotten a nice rub from DX, Michaels and Rey and in the Gaunlet Match. That's not a bad couple of months.

Raw has a crowded ME scene as it is, and SmackDown's not far behind. Where would Morrison go if pushed now? You run the risk of stalling him because the card is too stacked for his ascension to matter.

Quite honestly, I think that HBK has a year left, maybe? Unless something develops between him and JBL to become a career ending match for him at WM25 since it is in Texas. Same with 'Taker since he is from Houston, have him go out at WM25 as well. HHH still has a few years left anyways so that would push new talent to the top.

Onto the subject at hand, I have really grown to like Morrison, especially starting at WM24 when he took a couple of crazy bumps outside of Shelton's crash through the ladder. Like someone else said earlier, his mic skills have improved and he is very athletic and has a great look. I look at him much like I did HBK in 1991-1992 and think that he will have a great career. I say push him at the earliest time!!

I think these guys have grown leaps & bounds, and I dare say are probably the most improved wrestlers of 2008.

But does anyone else think they need a female valet?

I cringe at the idea because it's too easy a means to spark the team split.

I'm on the record here as being astonished at Miz's evolution, and Morrison has been gold since he moved to ECW. Miz needs to land a few significant pinfalls to avoid being painted as the Jennetty. Morrison's superkicks on Triple H and Michaels within a few weeks of each other have elevated him yet again.

Would it be that hard to come up with a reason to move Morrison to SD? I agree Raw is stacked, but not SD. Edge, Taker, & HHH, are the only viable top guys they have IMO. Big Show I just don't buy into anymore. And honestly, Jeff still has a lot to prove.

Morrison and Miz have basically been the focus of ECW since the draft, at the same time they've become a regular act on Raw. They're a pretty pushed commodity. And they're great together -- they shouldn't be split up for a while yet.

Edge, Orton, and Batista have all headlined Wrestlemanias. Jericho has carried the load this year. Jeff Hardy is the world champion, albeit one with a two strike count. Not long ago, Ricky Ortiz was undefeated.

That's one way of looking at it. But those guys headlined, and were elevated by, HHH and Undertaker at those WrestleManias. Who have the guys you mentioned elevated? You made my point for me about Jeff. As much as I love the revamped Jericho, I still have major doubts about the company TRULY getting behind him. And I mean more than 2-3 week title reigns.

I agree they are great together and shouldn't be split up, but I don't think they've been the focus of ECW. Focus has pretty much been Finlay, Hardy, Henry since the draft. Hell, Miz and Morrison have probably been on Raw and SD more than ECW lately. I see no reason why they couldn't have a title feud between Hardy and Morrison and still keep M&M together. Better than Hardy/Kozlov.

No matter what show you watch you are aware of Miz and Morrison. I almost never catch Smackdown and just had to look up who was holding their tag titles. The Colons? I had actually forgotten about these guys. I can't even remember I read about them in a Smackown recap report. So, as far as pushes and exposure goes Miz and Morrison are really getting a ton of it.

I really think the best thing the WWE could do for the tag division is combine the belts and do a floating champion. It'd give a team like Miz and Morrison more credibility and it'd make sense since they are already floating between all the shows anyways.

Mostly just Jeff Hardy. But I was just saying that there's now an entire new generation of legit main eventers after HHH, Michaels, and Undertaker. Throwing in Jeff and Jericho and there still aren't really any new matches between this group (as they've now all been in PPV main events since '05 and '06), but there was a point last year when HHH, Michaels, and Undertaker were all hurt at the same time, and things were fine on top with Cena, Orton, Edge, and Batista.

Not that I wouldn't be all for Morrison and Miz as a headlining act, or CM Punk getting his summer push back, or MVP winning again.

You're right. I should've said, they were the focus over the summer, when even the MH/MH feud revolved around them to an extent, up until the point where they started appearing on Raw.

Letís look at some of the Smackdown lineup; Jericho, Benoit, Test, Edge, Christian and Lance Storm. Add the Real Canadian Hero Hulk Hogan and I think we will be seeing a lot of Smackdowns taking place north of the border.
