That's not the point. If Time Warner bends here, then every other company will expect the same treatment and that little amount goes up and up. They are trying to hold TW hostage, and could not have picked a worse time to do it what with the economy in it's current state and TV ratings way down across the board. What's their leverage, "hey less people are watching our crap so give us more money?"

    Viacom is dead wrong here.

It's like a penny per channel. C'mon. I am all for making a stand but where I live we have a puny local provider and already pay more. It's about $40/month for 40 channels (no premium).

And TW could eat the 23 cents if they cared that much about their subscribers.

I have DirecTv and I could "see" South Park too, but I didn't get any audio. I was DVRing all the episodes tonight. Every other channel had sound. Odd.

    - Someone blinked, or
    - 12:01 does not mean 12:01 Eastern. I'm not staying up until midnight, Alaskan time to find out though, it'll be a New Year's surprise when I wake up. (or it'll go off in the next half hour before I actually go to sleep, and that will be that)

A deal was reached.

You're not looking at this from TW's perspective. To YOU it's just 23 cents. To THEM, it adds up to about $40 million per year. Why in the hell should they eat an extra $40 million over this, even if they could? That's ridiculous to expect of them.

Glad something got done at least.

The real funeral had me in stitches. First, the call center girl. Then, the guys playing poker in person but still using laptopts KILLED me. Darnel has like three homerun lines per episode this season. Everything about the EPA and his suit? GOLD.
