Agreed. Tiger wasn't expected to play until Torrey Pines in February, so he might at most skip that one to show how he's taking his 'indefinite leave' seriously. He must know that the best way to make this PR storm blow over is to get out there and start winning tournaments again, so he'll be back out on the course as soon as his advisers tell him he's been apologetic for an appropriate amount of time.
Then again, maybe the club that Elin used to bust up his car was his lucky club, and Tiger needs more time for Nike to build a new one from his specs.

He eventually confessed to the cheating, but he doesn't want pictures of his face made public. That will just unleash another feeding frenzy from the media on how he got those wounds from just a little fender bender and speculation if his wife beat the crap out of him. That might also explain why he's taking off for Sweden. Less chance of being hounded by tabloid photographers hoping to get a huge pay-off photo of his face.
