There is apparently a school of thought that subscribes to the belief that talk of my Packers tie was the final jinx yesterday. I don't buy that - what REALLY jinxed it was I actually got out of work early to watch the game instead of listening to it on the radio like I did for last week's miracle, not to mention the Cardinals miracle of the week before.

What this ultimately means is the Packers tie, which I was optimistically saving for JUST a little bit deeper into the playoffs, now goes back toward the bottom of the pile. Oh yes, I have MORE than enough ties to ensure we don't see a repeat until football season starts.

I'm not sure I've really captured how fantastically ugly this tie is. This colour scheme baffles me, frankly.

Also, it says "XL" - which ain't no lie as this tie could easily be six inches shorter. Whoever bought this tie before me was good enough to leave the "$32.50" pricetag attached - I sure hope they didn't pay $32.50 for this tie, I must say.

Finally, I will note with pride that this 100% polyester tie was made in USA - I guess "proudly" is left to be assumed.

If this picture didn't adequately do ungodly garish is that thing in person.

Also...if there's anything to Packers's jinx's it could be my fault as well. I actually, for the first time in ages, went to a Packer party instead of solitarily stewing in my own little corner at home.

No no. This tie is very classy. I can tell that this tie could easily go for $32.50.

Seriously. That tie looks like something Red Foreman would wear.

That is actually a pretty good tie.

My guess is that it dates to the early 90's.

Oh no no no it's actually pretty not. The scan gives no indication of just how shiny it is.

The only thing I enjoy more than doing the crossword puzzle is actually finishing it.

This tie looks like early 90's to me and the super shiny material was a key element in some of the uglier NYC street vendor ties......if I had that tie, it would be in my kids' dress up box in the basement

Many greatest movie lists put the original Star Wars in the top 5, largely for the huge cinematic impact it had. I'd like to see those lists. Personally, if we're talking American Movies only, I wouldn't mind Star Wars making the top 50.
