OK...we've mentioned a few of the "new" sodas here:
"Upside down 7-up" --- haven't seen it yet.
"Red Fusion" --- Mr. Pibb as done by Dr. Pepper.
"Pepsi Blue" --- Screaming blue evil in a bottle. Whoever thought this was a good idea should be dragged out and shot.
"Mr. Green" --- Dr. Pepper as done by SoBe...but with ginseng.
But...my hands down favorite soda is Ale-8-1. Or "L8" if you live in Kentucky as my wife's relatives do. I was introduced to this on a trip down there, and everytime we visit I have to bring home a couple of cases.
It hints at ginger ale, but better...in my humble opinion.

This rules the mother fucking universe!
I tried the upside down 7up stuff and found it rather refreshing. I went to 3 different stores looking for it though because for some horrible reason down here, Coke is trying to phase out 7up and is pushing Siera Mist on us poor bastards.
Also, try the Walmart brand of Raspberry soda, that shit is just to die for... goes great with Jack Daniels!

Hah! We have Diet Dr. Pepper in our vending machines! Told you radio was a great business...(come to the dark side...)
I forgot to tell you!
When I put it in the fridge, my brain wasn't working or something because I found it in the freezer...and it had exploded and left a frozen mess.
So I had to go drop 60 in the vending machine (yeah, we've got it too - but I prefer $3 for a 12 pack for some reason)
Mello Yello is not Surge, by the way.
Go here to find all the sodas you can't find anymore. I found this place after they were featured on Food TV's "Unwrapped."

I didn't mention that it took me two full days to slow back down again.
And Mello Yello is not Surge - they were selling Mello Yello before & after they were selling Surge.

Mello Yello has been around at least since the movie "Days Of Thunder." For those of you unaware, it was a racing movie that came out in 1990, and one of the cars featured was a car with "Mello Yello" advertising on it. For a long time, the slogan for Mello Yello was "there's nothing mellow about it", which to me is a stupid slogan. If there's nothing mellow about it, then WHY HAVE MELLO IN THE NAME?
And I loved the 26 oz cans of Surge. Whenever we went on trips, I would always look in every convenience store we stopped in, and if they had it, I'd load up. Besides, Surge got me 3 different copies of "WCW Mayhem", the first wrestling game I had ever owned.

Since 7-Up is a Cadbury product and Sierra Mist is made by Pepsi, somehow I doubt Coke is heavily involved here. ;)

Ale-8-1 is the greatest beverage known to man. It is made in Winchester, KY merely 90 minutes from my home. Most Kentuckians pronounce it "A Late One." or just "Ale 8" like you mentioned. If any of you ever swing down through here you have to try it. Its rarely sold out of state except in the Cincinnati area. Best. Soft. Drink. Ever.
Oh and I can't believe no one has chastized "New Coke" yet.

| #33 Posted on 22.1.03 1517.46 | All this talk about sodaz and not a mention about Josta-- with Guarana?! That stuff rocked!
I remember, while surfing online a while ago, seeing ads for the new 7UP brand. For a moment, I thought I had been drinking too much of another one of the world's favorite beverages (BEER). The fact that it has caffeine is enough to keep me away (the other caffeinated Pepsi lemon-lime crap was AWFUL), but the fact that it's got COLOR to it? Ummm...
Does anyone remember Hubba Bubba bubble gum flavored sodie pop? That stuff was too sugary for BEES! It was good if it was ice cold, though.
And I have to use an out of date wrestling reference here-- SODAZ RULE!

Glad to see that someone else remembers the Hubba Bubba soda. Sugary enough to make your eyes bleed.
Did anyone else ever have the Chocolate Fudge soda in their area...this was just....wrong.
Finally, I forgot about Strawberry Slice. I tried it and found it...O.K...but not my cup of tea. I have a co-worker who deemed it like "drinking a bowl of acid".
High praise indeed.

Well, those of you who don't like it are SMOKING CRACK. This stuff is great! It's a bit like Surge, in my opinion. I'll definitely be having it again.
