Right now there's a rebate for the DVD kit.
Sega GT and Jet Set Radio future come with it FREE.
X Box live launches with a year o service, a headset, and two games.
Toejam and Earl 3. Conker 2. Halo 2. As soon as they are out and I have money.
Now if only they'd make a decent f'n wrestling game for it...
Free DVD remote, 4 games, and an idiot proof online network for $250? Yessir, I'll take it.

Where did you hear that Xbox Live comes with two free games? Everything I've read has stated that you get a demo disc, not a full game (let alone two).
Halo 2 is still AT LEAST seven months away -- likely more. Ditto for Conker 2.
Which leaves you with a fighting-for-SECOND-place console with two games, a demo disc, and a (never underestimate the ingenuity of idiots -- nothing is idiot-proof) online network for $250. It's a reasonable deal... if the two games and the games available for the online network are games you'd really want to play.

| #3 Posted on 4.11.02 1112.49 | Let's not forget that the PS2 and Xbox have very poor DVD players.
I sold my DVD player to get an Xbox thinking I wouldn't need one, but then the Xbox wouldn't play some DVDs and gave others massive skipping problems so I had to go out and buy a new DVD player just to watch Simpsons Season 2.
Xbox Live comes with two demos, also. Not full games. And as much as I hate to say it, Toejam and Earl 3 is horrible.

Ooh... well does anyone know if the X Box can play the Spider-Man DVD? Because that looks to be the only DVD my dad plans on buying with the X Box right now and if it doesn't play Spider-Man, I'll get the irritated silent look from him. I hate that look.

| #8 Posted on 11.11.02 2119.49 | I haven't had a single problem with the Xbox's DVD player yet. It runs all 50+ movies in my collection.
As for Xbox Live - I'm impressed. If only for NFL2K3 and the Capcom games (Capcom vs. SNK 2, Marvel vs. Capcom 2, etc. etc.)
But the most important thing:
Custom soundtracks.
WWE Raw 2 has already said they will support the Custom Soundtrack feature for CAW. Pair that up with WWE Anthology and... well...
You do the math.

I'll be getting mine in a few short hours but the only online game I KNOW I'll be getting is Mechassault. I can get one more game but I don't know if I want Toejam and Earl 3 or an online sports game like NFL2K3 or NBA2K3.
Suggestions?

With poison running through your veins, and death marching solemnly towards you, heroic acts become more of a necessity as you see your time dwindling.
Vanquishing your enemies, making amends to those you have wronged, and leaving words of love and kindness for those around you become second nature as your own mortality looms
However, true strength lies not in these last desperate acts, but in the actions of one who has to get out of bed the next day and face the consequences of doing that which you believe is right. | joecollins

Sure I can afford that, but then I'd have no money to buy the X Box.
