This could be random, but it's kinda about wrestling, so I'll put it here. Does anybody know anything about the WWE Raw Deal Card Game? I've just got myself a nice little Chris Benoit starter deck and I was wondering if anyone knew anyplace in central Massachusetts where I could get some Booster packs. No, I'm not going to be like that guy who asked CRZ about wrestling schools in western Pennsylvania, this is just a request for help. Thanks a bunch.
You know, one of these days Chris Jericho is going to beat Triple H cleanly in the center of the ring with a perfectly fine count. At that time, the planet Mars shall turn purple, Haley's comet shall become a nightly observation, and the Internet will not be happy.
Depends on how many card you're looking to buy. If you're wanting to buy just a couple of packs, I'd suggest looking at your local comic book store. If they don't carry it, they'll probably know who will.
If you're looking to buy a whole box of boosters, I'd try the internet. You can usually get tremendous discounts; a box will run you about $60. J&B Cards (jbcards.com), All Star (allstartradingcards.com), and Potomac Distribution (potomacdist.com) are all good choices, but Potomac only accepts orders over $100.
I looked at the "official" website of Raw Deal, and it listed all of two retailers. I'll probably just try the Internet.
EDIT: Then again...maybe not. That's a decent sum of money. And from looking quickly at my Benoit deck, the only glaring omission I can find is the Crossface and a Backlash deck. Quick! To the Batmobile...err....quick! To the Hurricycle....no....quick! To the comic book store!
(edited by gugs on 6.10.02 0729) My Chris Benoit Raw Deal deck is 0-0-0. The Patriots are 3-1. Chris Jericho does not have a belt or an upcoming shot at a belt.
I've been playing Raw Deal for a while, and can point out a few things on the game.. first off.. it can get pretty damn expensive if you let it, be forwarned (though this is true of all CCGs)
I've dealt with potomac distribution in the past, and they run a pretty good organization there, I'd recommend them if you want to spend the minimum shipping fee. Beyond that, I'd recommend ebay if you are looking for only specific cards, and possibly trying to talk to comic/game stores. (However, be warned that the general gaming public may view you with derision, wrestling fan :P)
In terms of places to play, the only place that I know of for certain in the Northeast that seems to have a good number of games/players is Neutral Ground in New York.. last I heard, they were pulling 60+ players a tournament... its a bit out of your way, but might be worth a try some weekend. (Note that if you play in the tournament with only a starter, you can expect to not do so well, as there will likely be a number of people who have hundreds, if not thousands invested in the game.. we're crazy people, we geeks.)
Other than that.. hmm.. if you use yahoo groups at all, they have two groups on there for it, look up raw deal and they should be findable..
If you have any questions past this, feel free to ask, like I said, I've been playing for a bit ;)
If one is near you, try a Newbury Comics. They usually have all kinds of card games like that, most of the time at the registers. Other than that if you are near any type of comic book store, they usually carry card games, if they don't have it I bet they can either tell you where to get them, or even order some for you. Hope this helps.

Reminds me of when they try to ferret out who Dave talks to in the office, when a) Vince himself used to talk to Dave b) everyone thinks they know who they are c) there used to be someone who officially talked to Dave (JJ in the 90s I think)
