| #1 Posted on 1.10.02 2014.06 | Opinions have been sanitized for your sanity... So, today the Calgary Flames traded C Jeff Shantz, LW Dean McAmmond & D Derek Morris to the Colorado Avalanche for C Chris Drury & F Stephanie Yelle.
Any comments?
I think it's a good trade. Personally... But I can be wrong...

| #3 Posted on 1.10.02 2100.22 | I think it's good for Calgary as well. My only worry is that Calgary is cursed with a history of bad trades...which means Drury will tear his ACL two games in and Morris will win the Norris Trophy.

| #4 Posted on 2.10.02 0654.51 | This a deal with upside for both - Morris will have a chance to play with and develop alongside Rob Blake and Drury gets to play with Iginla (who must be the happiest man in Calgary right about now)

Rumour has it that they may try and do a Marc Savard deal for a D now that they have Drury...

Actually it is a good deal for each side. The Avs get a good young defenseman and the Flames get some more offense. The Avs will have more patience with a young defenseman than the Flames which benefits them.

Ummmmm....
OK. I have heard of 1 of these guys. (Boughner) That's not to say they aren't going to be good, obviously what do I know?? Looking at that list if I am an opponent certainly doesn't scare me though...
My question still stands. Don't they need someone else??? Will they try and deal Savard for a D?? You're in Calgary Freeway, any ideas???

| #10 Posted on 3.10.02 2017.16 | Opinions have been sanitized for your sanity... The idea right now is for Button to try and pick up an experienced yet cheap d-man in the waiver draft, because we need scoring. And heck, Savard, Drury, Gelinas, Conroy, Kobasew & Iginla make 2 sweet-ass lines. And that's 1 more than we had last year.

Well, I was at last night's Flames-Oilers game, and the Iginla-Conroy-Drury line was the only line to do ANYTHING. Gelinas-Savard-Kobasew did absolutely nothing...
I know it's just one pre-season game, but improving that second line, or dropping one of the first line guys down, would help...
