1. Young Frankenstein - As far as I'm concerned this is a masterpiece. Funniest movie of all time.
2. Abbott and Costello Meet Frankenstein - I'm not partial to Frankenstein movies, these two just happen to be two of the funniest of all time. For it's time I've never seen anything which rivals this movie.
3. Dumb and Dumber - Jim Carrey's best movie. Nuff said.
4. Brewster's Millions - Come on, Richard Pryor's best movie, and what would a comedy list be without him?
5. Throw Mama From the Train - Billy Crystal's best movie.
6. Wonder Boys - This movie has been quickly moving up all my favorites lists.
7. The Whole Nine Yards - Probably the best dark comedy I've ever seen.
8. Stripes - Yes, I put this above Caddyshack. In fact Caddyshack is not on this list.
9. Mr. Mom - I've always been partial to this movie and to Michael Keaton for some reason.
10. Arthur - The movie is starting to bore me a bit, but if you've never seen it before it is very funny.
I know, a lot of 80s stuff on here. But I think I covered some other eras too. Any ideas?

| #10 Posted on 20.9.02 1309.25 | Uh oh, lists... Well, I better do this quick while I still can:
In no particular order:
1. Young Frankenstein. Agreed. No matter how many times I've seen it, and it's somewhere in the dozens, I still laugh at the blind man scene as hard as the first time I saw it. (And the reason why it's funny - the pause between when he lights his thumb on fire and when he screams)
2. Airplane! Stewardess? I speak jive.
3. Chasing Amy. Kevin Smith's finest. I've been there, Ben. I've been there.
4. Dogma. Kevin Smith's second-finest, and most underrated. For all the flack the Catholic League gave this film, I have to admit that it made me question my religious convictions. Of course, I was an atheist going in.
5. The Big Lebowski. Is this a comedy, persay? No matter, it's going on my list.
6. Army of Darkness. Evil Dead 2 is actually my favorite of the series, but that retains enough of the "scary" stuff to keep it categorized as "horror". Army of Darkness is zaniness through and through.
7. Dr. Strangelove. I'm now concerned about how similar my list is to Grimis's...
8. Monty Python and the Meaning of Life. Probably the least popular of the three (or four, if you count "And Now For Something Completely Different" - which I don't), but it's still my favorite. Mostly for the scene where a husband and wife, who I'm assuming had to be directly based on my parents, debate philosophy and Burt Bacarach.
9. Billy Madison. Easily the stupidest movie ever made. In a good way.
10. No Holds Barred. But I'm pretty sure it was a drama.

| #15 Posted on 20.9.02 1527.14 | Dr. Strangelove-Simply the finest black comedy ever made. Period.
Ferris Bueller's Day Off-The man you, I, that guy over there, Hell, EVERYONE wants to be.
The Big Lebowski-Sadly overlooked when people stampede to verbally blow the Coens. One of their finest.
Duck Soup-The Marx Bro's most accessible film to modern day audiences. Still makes me cry with laughter.
Monty Python and The Meaning Of Life-The best of the three simply because it goes back to the show's format and never gets dull. Highlight: Death turning up and giving the Americans an earful.
Pulp Fiction-My pick for number one film of all-time. Nobody can make drug overdoses, anal rape, armed robbery and racism funny like Tarantino can.
There are many, many more, I just can't list em all.

| #19 Posted on 20.9.02 1706.52 | Some good mentions, some I didn't expect. There seems to be some agreement on Young Frankenstein though. (Spaceballs was good but it is second best of the Brooks films to YF.) I will admit Holy Grail deserves mention on a Top Ten list, it just wouldn't make mine.
I think we are all forgetting The Princess Bride. It's a good fall movie, hope to see it on TV soon. And obviously The Spy Who Shagged Me will start being realized as great once it gets properly juxtaposed to the other two Austin Powers over time.
The only Adam Sandler movie I would even consider would be Waterboy. All others, including any Chris Farley movies, need to go away. (Sorry, the guy was funny as hell, but his movies were BORING.)
And how did I forget the Blues Brothers? That has to replace Arthur as #10 on my list.
