Houdini had to hold his breath while trying to break out of handcuffs. This so-called "Magician of the Year" gets a mask and an oxygen tank and doesn't have to break out of anything! The only thing he has to worry about is getting wrinkled prune-skin from staying underwater so long!

Isn't it ironic seeing a guy with a "Saved 1" shirt lying in a pool of his own blood with a head-sized hole in the car next to him?

I once fell asleep in the bathtub and woke up 8 hours later all wet and pruny. Can I become a famous "illusionist" now?

It looked like he was stuck in a glass cage full of water with scuba gear for twenty-four hours.

If I'm not mistaken, that's what he did.

Where's the illusion???

I think the "trick" here is that he's managed to fool people into thinking that it's even remotely interesting.

He must have the same publicist that Marilyn Manson had.

doesn't anyone else appreciate the fact that he was hospitalized with dehydration after staying under water for 24 hours?

Hey Yo...

It's supposed to be based on water torture. And not to hate, but it DOES take tremendous mental endurance to stay under water that long. I'll give him credit. Sure it's nothing that the ABC magician (David Blaine?) hasn't done better, but who cares? I imagine it WOULD be hard staying under water that long. Period. And what if, just what if, the machine goes haywire and he can't breathe? I imagine dthat to be pretty scary. Plus our society has so many phobias about being underwater and enclosed spaces I imagine it's pretty bad on the human psyche.

I'll admit, if it weren't such a transparent rip-off of David Blaine and his block of ice stunt (which was considerably more impressive) I'd be a little more impressed. As it is... sorry, Criss Angel. Interesting look, nice gimmick, but there's no illusion, and as a feat of endurance it's underwhelming compared to what's been done recently. Maybe he should've waited a little longer, so that it wouldn't be so easy to compare it with Blaine's feat.

That may be the funniest thing I've heard in awhile. I LITERALLY laughed out loud reading that. Thanks.

The problem to me is that they mention how he's a big fan of Houdini, and then he says that he's an "illusionist." Sorry, no illusion here. Maybe he's a "endurance scuba diver" or something, but he's no illusionist.

There is a Mr Freeze ride at Six Flags here in St Louis, it shoots out at about 70 MPH, into a loop, then up a long straight up track, then it goes backwards, until you get back to the loading dock. Is that what the one out there is like?
