My six year old napped all afternoon so he drew comics with me from 8 to 9 and then somehow started watching that new Power Rangers Samurai dealie so I'm just waiting him out so I can watch the TNA WEDDING SPECIAL! He and my other kids went to giant Picasso exhibit yesterday at the Virginia Museum and this is the most they have ever talked about boobs in their wee little lives. My sons are under the impression that every woman Picasso painted naked was one of "his three wives." It's all so very odd.

WHAT WORKED-

- BEER MONEY whup Deuce and Domino and it was a spirited little 5 minute affair. INK INC! Shannon Moore is incomprehensibly emo- and if he REALLY wanted to show Fayetteville his Carolina Bona Fides, he could have driven really shittily.

- TAZZZ coming to grips with not being able to drive himself blind to the lack of Velvet Skyy humping the second rope is heartwarming. It makes up for the rather limp blow-off of the Velvet vs Serita feud. Serita did lean into that DDT like a champ, which also helped. And they move right over to Robbie E and Cookie. Yeah, next week is Superstars/Impact Comix. That hair must be drawn. The whole angle was a wreck until Angelina gets all REAL on them and goes all Untipped Carolina Diner waitress on the Jerseyites, saving this teetering segment.

- Ric Flair as marriage counselor is soooo the next great post-wrestling wrestler Carney idea. BETTER than starting a wrestling school! EVEN BETTER than starting a ministry!

- Mat Morgan vs Hernandez had a perfectly fine Battle Of The Shitty Back Tattoos. I'm trying to think if Edge or Morgan has the most preposterously retarded offense in American wrestling. The spot where he elbows his opponent behind without even looking may put him over the top because that is just sooo absolutely REEEEEE- TAARDED! Hey, BLOOD! This match worked!

- SECOND WEDDING! Angle looks all creepy and crazy and that makes it work by holding it together as the tension builds up and I dug how they go on and on. AN AXE! AWESOME! Oh, I was hoping for the first SHOOT ANGLE with cgi blood effects. Bart Scott takes the ironic turn of selling the Angle ankle lock better than Angle could ever sell it. BART SCOTT IS THE NEW KEVIN GREENE! THE NATURAL!

- Ooooh FUCK! How can a whole week go by without a boy like myself not taking a swing at drawing those Sting pants? I would wear those EVERY SINGLE DAY. And my DVR cuts off. Make sense. I'm tired. That works. PAUNTS~!

WHAT DIDN'T WORK-

- What the hell is this Dixie Carter crap and why did it go on for 15 minutes? I leaned on the fast forward like the OLD days of Nitro. Memories..... Though I must say that BEER MONEY was fucking SOLID GOLD on the stick and just looking like guys who will beat your ass. But yeah, being held back by security wouldn't stop REAL angry drunken rednecks. Stink.

- A New York Jet is settling for TNA rats? Ooo, I guess this strike is gonna go on for a while. Bart Scott does have natural loathesomeness you can't teach. He has a future in this biz once the NFL destroys itself.

- Eric Young on the terlit.

- Eric Young acting in a skit with Orlando Jordan. Orlando Jordan as flower man makes me STILL SEETHE about the WWE pussing out like a giant pack of pussies when Billy and Chuck were left at the alter by the booking committee. The really great thing was Angle and Jarrett fighting against going into the wedding cake like was exploding barbed wire. They build this up for like 6 weeks and its over in two minutes? Oh wait. There will be more. Maybe they will save their bacon.

- Ah man, I want to draw Rob Terry. Boooo typing! God, Steiner pretty much destroys Terry and I guess we get on with our lives. Yes, your 7 day feud.

THERE YOU HAVE IT.

The show was rather awful. They did have a real good crowd and the arena looked good and the crowd was hot all night. It's too bad they wasted such a crowd with all of eighteen minutes of wrestling. Tahe need to go on the road more for once the show had a major league look in that arena. Rob Terry Vs Scott Steiner was shockingly not terrible. It was quick and painless with Steiner tossing Terry around. Beer Money is likely the most over guys on the roster. Sting-Hardy was way too short and giving Sting another title reign is silly. The fans wanted to see Sting in The WWE not anywhere else and not because Sting is a hot act. I bet they hotshot the title back to Hardy at the next PPV.

I hope they don't put the title back on Hardy, simply because the main thing that match did was make Hardy look like a complete pussy. I get that Sting is "The Icon" and has a legendary status, but, seriously, Jeff not only looked terrified, he got very, very little offense and pretty much just jobbed out in about five minutes. I personally don't care much about surprise title switches happening on TV (I don't buy TNA PPVs anyway), but that just seemed like a complete show of no confidence after building the whole show mostly around Hardy (and Bischoff/Hogan, admittedly) for the last six months.

Definitely not a good show. I fast-forwarded through all the wedding stuff, even though I continue to find Orlando Jordan surprisingly amusing. I got all my enjoyment out of Beer Money being awesome, although I wondered why they bothered to put over the Machine Guns in those amazing matches last year only to have the MCMG completely disappear now. Oh, wait, I know why they did it...because the people who book TNA have no idea what they're fucking doing.

Having Jersey Shore knockoffs is still a terrible, terrible (though well-intentioned) idea. I still hate it. But having the genuine articles? Now THAT should be interesting. I say "should be", because so far, it isn't. I'm hoping that business leads somewhere interesting, because the Jersey Shore's 15 minutes aren't quite up yet. (Getting there, sure, but not up yet.)

Of course, I may have said this same thing back when J-Woww was on, so what do I know?

I firmly believe that the majority of the people who watch wrestling today do not watch it for the 'wrestling'.

Hogan got the loudest reaction during the whole show and everyone knows he ain't gonna be wrestling any time soon.

Without wrestling it's a talkshow held in a boxing ring starring people who are famous for nothing. I'm pretty sure wrestling's still the main draw.

If you watch football I guess you know who the football guy is and why he's so important; but the problem is that if you're not a football fan, you have no earthly idea who the guy is or why they're sticking him in so many segments where a wrestler could have been much more effective.

And did we really need to do the false-start/cake bit in two seperate segments?

It doesn't even make sense- first Kurt wants to stop the wedding by shoving Karen into the cake, and then later he goes through with the whole wedding 'till the vows are finished? Why? Not only is that nonsensical booking, it's nonsensical booking that wastes a whole lot of valuable airtime.

I will say that Flower Girl Orlando Jordan was pretty funny just because of the expression on his face, and I might be the only one who thinks this; but I think Tazz is very funny on commentary. He's like a crazy rambling old man.

While I'm glad he isn't STILL rocking the Crow look exactly, Sting's new red robe and general demeanor kept reminding me of Nicholas Cage as Fu Manchu.

I love Sting. In the 90s, he was one of my 2 or 3 favorite guys pre Austin/Rock. Then he reinvented himself as the Crow Sting and won me over again. But that was then. If this is truly his final run, and he puts over some young guy when he drops the belt I would be fine with it. But he already supposedly did that with AJ at BFG 2009. Now here we go again. I will always have a soft spot for the guy, but this is not the way to use him. I can’t see him dropping the belt to AJ (see above) or Anderson (otherwise why have him drop it to Hardy?) so who is left to take the belt? Hardy again after the continue his next court date?

On a positive note, I agree they desperately need to take that show on the road more often. I know it is expensive, but it makes the show seem so much more legit. It at least LOOKED like Raw of SD, albeit a smaller crowd.

This was a really bad show. I haven't seen a match as ugly as the women's match in a long time, and the Jeff/Karen/Kurt stuff was just death. Also, Kurt looks terrible. But what absolutely drove me up the fucking wall was the segment toward the beginning where Matt Hardy got into the brawl with Fortune. Everyone had their backs to the camera, and the echo in the arena absolutely destroyed the audio. I could not for the life of me tell what was going on in that segment. I hate TNA's director of television. I cannot fucking believe that man ever went to school to learn how direct television, or even ever studied under someone else who had done it in the past. TNA has the worst, most baffling, most frustrating, least functional, and frankly most bat-shit piss-poorly composed television direction I've ever seen in my entire life.

"The Network?"

Really? TNN/Spike becomes the controlling influence yet again?
And it just happens to mirror the Anonymous GM on RAW?

They are now throwing in dying era ECW angles in with the dying era WCW stuff! Whopee!

This was a horrible show. So typical Bischoff/Russo. Build a big free show, grab as many D-List celebs as you can, and hope you hook some new fans.

Orlando Jordan and Eric Young get multiple segments while Joe and Pope aren't even on the show??

Finally Sting. NOBODY GIVES A SHIT. I don't know why they think this guy is a draw in 2011.

Ah! Okay. See, I assumed he was some popular or really good player because otherwsie TNA wouldn't have put him on TV. As you can tell, I don't watch football.

I didn't watch the show, but they discussed the segment with Bart Scott today on Pardon the Interruption, which I'm guessing is what TNA was really going for with this: Mainstream coverage.

Michael Wilbon, who grew up watching wrestling in the Chicago area, actually gave Scott props for not coming in as the conquering hero and taking some punishment FWIW.

Did Sting's win make him the first wrestler to hold the world title in 4 diferent decades? No. His first win was July 7 1990. Damn. 11 time world champ isn't that bad.

Depends on your definition of a decade. If you consider it to begin with year 1, then Sting has won a world title in 4 decades.

The above sentiment is correct, but here's the full story in case you (or anyone else) wants to know. Sheik Adnan El-Kaissey (General Adnan) was the one who made the quote to Heenan about Andre's sexual style.
