Like every big Packers game, a big early lead followed by the inevitable slow fizzle allowing the opponents to get close enough to give me big-time agita followed by relief that the defense FINALLY managed a stop when the chips were down. I wish all these dudes would stop getting injured but in the end, The Bishop™ and Clay Matthews came up big, Rodgers threw passes that were actually caught instead of dropped and Kevin Greene gets a ring.
I ... uh ... bought a cigar yesterday. Somehow even THAT didn't jinx them, so I'm'a go smoke it now.
FUCK YEAH PACKERS

Alright game, glad the Steelers lost.

Now that said, has anyone had a more up and down super bowl than Jordy Nelson? Sure he had several catches and a touchdown. But he had nearly as many drops. It had to be annoying to be a GB fan and watch him let slip away at least a couple of near TD passes.

...that half-time show was SO SO SO awful I was angry until about five minutes into the 4th quarter, at which point, I finally got back into the game. Just AMAZINGLY bad.

| #7 Posted on 6.2.11 2310.25 | The referees really let the Steelers back in it with the facemask call that wasn't. Luckily, Williams' stupid "retaliation" penalty didn't end up costing the Pack.
And Christina should have spent a few bucks for cue cards - or maybe written the National Anthem on her hand.

Congrats to the Pack. Everyone at my Super Bowl party that I threw were anti-Steelers, so we were all happy with the game.

Seriously? If so, bullshit. There is a clear difference between playing 19 games (Super Bowl included) and an 18 game regular season. | pieman

I shut the game off as soon as it was done and didn't see Rogers with the belt. Ok. That was kinda cool. SBQB is a wrasslin' fanatic. FU, mainstream~!

Also, why have guest performers when you don't announce them ahead of time? I remember No Doubt bringing out Sting, but at least they all played together. Usher seemed to get a song by himself.
So who do we think gets the nod next year: another classic rocker or someone young and popular? Does Katy Perry have enough songs to do a halftime gig? Do they trust Lady Gaga? Does Taylor Swift get her shot?

"They are trying really hard" was the best praise I could muster, and then Fergie broke into "Sweet Child O' Mine" at which point Mrs. JJD went "Oh my God..." (and not in a good way). The visuals were pretty awesome, though.

I may be a Steelers fan but I can appreciate the Packers winning, especially when Da Black'N'Gold hands it to them on a silver platter. But outside of the predictable Black Eyed Peas debacle (really, these jackasses don't make anything approaching music and you want them for halftime?), it was one entertaining game. Starting with:
Cameron Diaz Feeds A-Rod (youtube.com)
That A-Rod thing was hilarious. We were playing this game we always do at Super Bowl time, and it requires us to pay attention in spots. So when they started doing the "famous people here" bit, the conversation immediately tailed off and we all just focused on the TV...just in time to see A-Rod get fucking spoon-fed by Cameron Diaz. Best moment of the night outside of:

and

So yeah, the Steelers lost and that sucks. But it was incredibly gracious of them to, quite literally, hand the game gift-wrapped to the Packers. Now Charles Woodson is a Super Bowl champion and has won everything possible in his football career, and finally.....FINALLY.....life and football give Brett Favre a giant middle finger. He never helped the kid, he whined and bitched Rodgers was even drafted, and he then goes so far as to actively fight against the very franchise he was synonymous with. In return, Rodgers was basically self-taught for all those years under Favre, is shown trust and faith by the Packers, and rewards them by outdoing Favre - Rodgers was younger than Favre when he won his only Super Bowl, out-stat'd Favre with 24-39, 304 yds, 3 tds, and was named Super Bowl MVP which Favre was not. Aaron Rodgers has the belt; FUCK YOU FAVRE!

I haven't read all the post-game articles, but I wonder if Greene is the one who went out and got the replica belt for Rodgers. That would just seem right.
As for the game itself, I am pleased beyond belief. I just wish I hadn't eaten so much in the first half, because the second half gave me some serious indigestion.
