I don't mind the package the Royals got for Greinke. KC is actually building up quite the minor league system, which is the only bright side to their years of failure. The Royals could be a midwest Tampa Bay sooner than we think.
As for Milwaukee, they addressed their biggest weakness (starting pitching) by adding Greinke and Shaun Marcum. Their weakness is now a strength, since any rotation that has Marcum as its #3 is pretty tight. The Brew Crew will definitely give the Reds and Cardinals a race this season.
I love how in reading the Yahoo (sports.yahoo.com) article, they make it sound like the Royals got a good deal and it can get even better if they get a apparently Hardy-level pothead in Jeremy Jeffress. Long story short, they traded away their one decent arm for a bunch of cheap minor leaguers and bench players. Classic KC to remove any chance of even trying to get to a .500 record.
As for Milwaukee, it's a really good deal. My question is if they're doing this in part to try to get Prince Fielder to stay with a competitive team and if it'll work.
Royals made the right move they're years away from competiting, and by the time they're ready to win Greinke would have left as a free agent. According to most The Royals got a nice return. The NL Central is now a three team race.

My inclination is that they're going all or nothing for the postseason under the assumption that Fielder is gone after this year.
As a Royals fan, I am saddened to think Greinke will not pitch for my favorite team any longer. I am also saddened that they didn't get an impact player in this deal. While all four guys might turn out fine, they should have received that one big guy. :(
How old is Ricky anyway? Isn't he like 45? ugh. *bangs head on desk* Burnitz hasn't had a great season so far. I don't get it. Our pitching is/was decent so far this season but with the injuries and inconsistencies, it's just not going well.
