Tennessee Football Inc., the company that owns the Titans, filed the lawsuit Monday in Davidson County Chancery Court against both the university and Kiffin.
The lawsuit accuses Southern California and Kiffin of violating Pola’s contract that required him to have written permission to discuss a job with anyone other than the Titans.
Tennessee hired Pola as running backs coach in February only to lose him Saturday to Southern California as the Trojans’ new offensive coordinator and running backs coach.
“USC and Kiffin maliciously intended to—and did—induce Pola to breach the Pola contract,” the lawsuit charges.
::sigh:: Oh, Lane Kiffin. You're so good at ruffling feathers. At this point you have to wonder if he's a bumbling, inadequate fool who keeps making mistakes or if he's an actual "bad guy" and doesn't care about the rules or customs of NCAA or NFL football.
And you HAVE to wonder what USC's new athletic director thinks about all this. He's doing his best to fix USC's image but he's gonna have a real hard time of it with Kiffin running the flagship program.
Has any college football coach been fired before even playing a game? Lane had better win some games and go to the Rose Bowl for all the shit that has been following him. Fisher is an ex-USC guy, too, so you have to wonder what other alumni not happy with this choice either or he has pissed off. Screwing over the alumni along with a losing season usually leads to an early exit.
I ain't goin' back to life without an elite quarterback. I only just got used to it. It's cold out there without one. There's no way that the unknown assets in Lots O' Picks can be equivocal to the trump card of a franchise QB.
