I am just shocked that a Japanese League manager could not win with the amazing talent of the Kansas City Royals. Do these front offices actually think they can get *anyone* to win with the roster? I never understand these firings.

From talking to a couple of friends that are Royals fans they felt he was a horrendous manager that made some really dumb mistakes that cost the team. That said, Dayton Moore is the worst GM in Baseball and The Owner is a joke too. Poor Grienke.

It's just that his style was more suited to Japan. Hell they have a bar named after him over there.

The biggest problem is the culture. Winning is a culture ans so is losing. After not being relevant for 25 years, it will take one hell of a commitment on the owners part. Until the 1990s, my beloved Tribe had one season worth talking about, 1968 when they were third. It took an owner with a real commitment and patience. And at that they were relevant with two Series appearances and no wins.

Edgar was my favorite player for years and he had some of the most clutch hits in Mariner history, but if you put him in than you open the gates to the Fred McGriff's.
