They trade a 3rd and 4th round pick and then sign him for 3 years/25 Million extension. Not a bad deal for either side, but Arizona's offense will not be as feared (or as fun to watch) any more with just Leinart to Fitzgerald the main option now.
Hard to say "The Cardinals' best days are behind them', but sure seems that way. And the Ravens just got better, woo woo woo.
It's a move that simultaneously vaults the Ravens to a "favorite" status and knocks the Cards for a loop. Flacco now has a reliable receiver and Derrick Mason can now retire in good conscience without feeling the need to come back because the Ravens don't have a suitable replacement.
Next year is shaping up to be bloody awful if you're a Cards fan. Losing Warner to retirement and losing Boldin to a trade can't inspire a lot of confidence for 2010.

Fortunately the Cardinals play in the Siberia of the NFL. Seattle probably won't matter much, the Rams are the Rams, and the 49ers have their own issues. Arizona could probably still win that division IF Leinart is as decent as I figure he can be. Plenty of teams get by with one good receiver, and Fitz is one of the best.

Plus losing Antrel Rolle to the Giants and Carlos Dansby to the Dolphins. Good news for those of us who are fans of other teams in the division!

You make good points, but don't the Cards still have Steve Breaston? And Early Doucet was looking pretty darn good at the end of last season. So while losing Boldin will hurt, I'm not so sure I'd declare them a one-receiver team just yet.

Yes, they are both good players, I should have clarified I meant above average, Breaston and Doucet haven't shown that ability yet but they have the potential. Arizona will be fine if Leinart is any good.
