Our usual procedures apply: hover over links for prices (cheapest during preorder!), click to order, icons for IMDb, tv.com and movie websites are clickable, and I try to make a few bad jokes here and there as well.
Sometimes, as you well know, nostalgia beckons and you end up with a really awful movie still getting my
Designing Women: Season Three (CBS, 1988-9) I gotta tell ya - this was actually a pretty good season - I'm trying to remember when exactly it got all preachy and left-wing-y - ah well, better off not trying to figure it out. "Big Haas and Little Falsie" is HILARIOUS. More info and NO trailer at the mighty Shout! Factory (shoutfactorystore.com)
WHO THE HECK IS ALICE As you well know, with the upcoming Tim Burton/Johnny Depp adaptation, all previous versions of Lewis Carroll's "Alice in Wonderland" are all out of the woodwork with new OR rereleases. There's one more down in the movies section but this week's slate consists primarily of adaptations first seen on television: Alice (2009 Miniseries) (Syfy, UK/Canada, 2009) Alice (2009 Miniseries) [Blu-ray] Alice in Wonderland (NBC, UK/USA, 1999) Robbie Coltrane, Whoopi Goldberg, Gene Wilder, Martin Short - hey, have you noticed how all these Alices seem to have a lot of mugging cameos? More info at RHI (rhientertainment.com) Alice in Wonderland (BBC, 1966) Episode of "The Wednesday Play" - includes cameos from Peter Sellers (how many times was he IN "Alice in Wonderland," anyway?), John Gielgud, Peter Cook, Leo McKern, Michael Redgrave, and apparently an uncredited Eric Idle (says IMDb). Sesame Street: Abby in Wonderland Oh, Sesame Street...not you too!

SUCCESS IN LIFE Yes You Can! "Five Communication Secrets that Catapulted Obama to the Presidency." #1: Be Barack Obama
AND FINALLY... VJWorld Visuals Countdown Clock Timer Seriously? Seriously. "Now everyone can see how much time is remaining, on the TV." It puts a VIRTUAL TIMER on your screen. No more cheating at charades! I mean, read this description: "The Countdown Clock Timer features Looping and Straight Countdown Timing. Choose from 60-45-30-20-15-10-5-4-3-2-1 minutes and also a 30 Second countdown. Used with Parlor Games and at Poker Tournaments, Casino and other games like Trivial Pursuit, Scrabble, Whose Line Is It?, Chess, Boggle and Pictionary. Also, it can be used as a Workout Timer, a Homework Clock or for Student Test Timing and so much more." I'm surprised they didn't suggest you use it for cooking your eggs. And they think people will pay TEN BUCKS for this! I mean....y'know, actually, I wish I'd thought of this. I bet they make a mint. Back up the truck!
And with that, we're out for now. I'd love to hear if anything gets you excited enough to reply, but even if nothing here grabs you, I'll be back later to give you the "after press time" changes right up to release day!
Anyone have any experience with this on-demand service? When did this start? Are they doing MGM catalog films as well?
"Well, you can't involve friendship with business. It has to be one or the other. It's either business or friendship, or hit the bricks!" --Life Lessons from Bobby the Brain Heenan WCW Uncensored 2000 preview

This thread needs a bump. I'll comment briefly for the moment, and return when I've got the chance to kinda' expound on my thoughts on this great, GREAT TV series. What could I possibly say that would do justice to Doctor WHO and Torchwood?
