When hired, I thought it was a great idea. He built the cup winning Stars team after all. But some horrible signing and lack of patience with coaches did him in. I'm glad he stepped down though, as too many GM's stay on for too long (JFJ, anyone?).

from what they were saying on HNIC radio including in an interview with Gauthier, he signed a long-term contract, so he's not interim GM.
