Inspired by our Twitter feed (thanks Jeff and James) - obviously I come down with Team James. My only quandary is deciding which of these clips rules more:

Probably the latest one...even if they did replace the Sexecutioner with Al Gore, they kept in Jason Sudeikis' popping and locking which I find myself constantly gravitating towards...

Rather than argue, I will concede that Keenan was AWESOME in the digital short.

Oh come on! It took me all day Sunday to get "What Up With Dat?" out of my head and now that song just came roaring back.

I do love that they bring in guest stars in the skit like James Franco and Mindy Kaling and then they just sit there and don't do anything. I find that hilarious.

The Reba digital short was also really good. Very musical episode this week. Almost every skit had singing and dancing.

The second one had Bobby Moynihan as circa-1996 Jake "The Snake" Roberts complete with twirling snake & sparkly silver vest. There is no contest here.

So who was the host of SNL? At different times during the show, my girlfriend and I thought we were watching Chris Klein, Neil Patrick Harris, James Franco and the ghost of Heath Ledger. The only person Joseph Gordon Levitt did not look like was Joseph Gordon Levitt. JGL was very good, though - very natural.

I used to really hate Jason Sudeikis, but if he keeps doing stuff like this, the hating will stop. He also did a lot of good stuff last week (when it seemed like he was in *every* sketch) with a lot of bad material, but I will *always* hate Jon Bovi.

I haven't seen the JGL episode yet, but Sudeikis was definitely the MVP of the January Jones episode. He tried so hard to save sketches that were clearly dying on air, but there was only so much he could do.

The intial sketch that they did a few years ago was DYNAMITE, but changing the characters into Weekend Update has definitely weakened them. I can't entirely hate anything that gives me Will Forte at his goofiness, though.

I used to really hate Kenan Thompson. What up wit dat? It stemmed from a day back in the 90's when a friend invited me to a free screening of a movie called Good Burger I'd never heard of.

Kenan is probably the hardest working guy on SNL. He plays every black character, man or woman, and he's usually just hilarious. He busts his ass in those sketches, especially when he has to sing and dance. I've become a fan.

But I really like this cast as a whole. Hader, Samberg, Forte, Armisen, Myers on Update, Thompson, Abby Elliot, etc. I like 'em all. Of all of them, I like Kristen Wiig the least. I think less of her is more but she's in almost every skit.

Aw, Kenan ain't nothing but a minstrel show. But Jon Bovi was top notch up until the last one out. DON'T TAKE MY HAND, WE WILL NOT MAKE IT I DO NOT SWEAR, OHHH DYING ON A PRAYER

The #1 highlight over the last few weeks for me was Taylor Swift's diret sonic match Shakira impression from that throwaway bunny soundtrack.

What? Whaaaaat? Whaaaaaaaaaat? etc.

Jon Bovi and Bill Hader's Keith Morrison are the two (three, I guess) recurring characters most deserving of a Superstar-esque film.

Also, Justin, it's "give my foot."

Really? I think she is far and away the most talented person and MVP on the show. Bill Hader being second. To each his own, I guess.

I never thought Keenan was that great, it seems like he does the same voice for nearly every character. To me, he is average, at best. But "Dip the ladle" and "Pan for gold" have become recurring phrases around our house, so I will at least give him credit for that.

Kristen Wiig is capable of being as funny as anyone on the show, but she also drops some of the biggest stinkbombs as well. Hader is always great when he's the focus of the sketch. Forte is always great, period.

Can't say I totally disagree about Wiig. I think the Gilly skits are awful, and I can't believe they keep bringing it back.
Forte is great, but a little too weird and off the wall for him to ever be a breakout star on the show, IMO.

Kristen Wiig is odd. I think she might be one of the best women they've ever had on the show - second only to Gilda Radner (at least off the top of my head) - but I hate every single recurring character she has*. Hard to explain, but it makes sense to me.

*: Obvious exception - the female half of the Two A-Holes. They need to bring that one back, babe.

I like Wiig's newswoman who is obviously in love with her interview subjects (last seen in the January Jones episode) and the fast-talking 'just kidding' lady on Weekend Update. And her impressions are usually quite good. In short, I dig Wiig.

I endorse this line of thinking, though I have come around on the Target Lady for some reason. Gilly, on the other hand, needs to die in a fire.

Agree on both counts. Perhaps I am biased being a Target employee, but I love her in that skit. And yes, Gilly is perhaps the worst recurring skit in the history of SNL.

>Wiig, roundly considered a standout performer on the NBC sketch comedy show, has built Gilly into a popular character.<

Evidently there is a difference of opinion here.
