I didn't realize that there was a lot of actual video and audio from when the happenings occurred.
The movie actually starts out with Milla Jovovich stating that the movie recreates the story using actual recordings.
Once it gets going, we find out that in Nome Alaska, there apparently have been an assload of disappearances, and unsolved murders since the 1960s.
The lady that the story revolves around is a practicing psychologist, and her husband was as well. But, he gets offed, and she then encounters three separate patients in the same day who share the same story about not being able to sleep, and a "beige owl" sitting at their window, staring at them. The ensuing story about how she tries to convince the sheriff and her own psychologist that there are aliens taking people from Alaska.
The actual footage of the people who were involved is chilling, and the alien sounds are intense.
I'd recommend this flick if you're into the aliens are out there type of story.

Now, I did read an article on CNN which says most of the deaths were accounted to drinking and driving during the six months of darkness expect four are unsolved. The four unsolved made me scratched my head and the mayor saying we need to move on. Anytime, someone says we need to move in an investigation with missing people, it usually means we have no clue what happened and we are not saying anything concrete to make us look like asses. I know it got panned, but I might check it out to see if some of this is a smear campaign by the town.

The correct answer is "neither." | StaggerLee

Either way, I guess I'm just a sucker. |
