| #1 Posted on 25.9.09 2121.36 | Instant Rating: 8.85 | Hi folks! Groan with me, there are exactly FOUR HUNDRED ITEMS to look at this week. That rolls out to 45 Blu-ray and 355 DVD and a lot of reading time if you're obsessed enough to check out everything, but I promise I'll make it as entertaining as I can.
Hover over a title to check the price (and remember, the price is lowest just before Tuesday's release) - click on icons both IMDb and tv.com for deeper info or an episode guide. If a movie has a website, we have an icon for THAT, too - and if they don't, we may STILL have another link in the form of the distributor info.
Everything's available on Tuesday UNLESS there's a different date at the end of a title's entry - there's a few of THEM, so keep your eyes peeled.
Let's go!
I went a bit obscure but I think you'd be rewarded by checking out this
PICK OF THE WEEK Decoder (The W at Amazon) (West Germany, 1984) 2 discs (DVD+CD) mark first DVD release of cult film with notable soundtrack - here's the info on this flick which was buried deep in the Cobraside release page (cobraside.com)... "Deluxe CD/DVD release of the 1984 German cult film featuring William S. Burroughs, Genesis P-Orridge (Throbbing Gristle), FM Einheit (Einsturzende Neubauten), Christiane F, the prolific underground film star Bill Rice, etc. Never before on DVD! Dual layer DVD features include a beautiful color-rich transfer of the film with newly translated English subtitles, the original trailer, a slide show of 75 still production photos by Ilse Ruppert, an Italian documentary about the film, a 25-minute audio interview with filmmaker Klaus Maeck, rare footage of Derek Jarman visiting Burroughs on set, and Berlin riot news footage used in the film with a music loop by Genesis P-Orridge commissioned specially for this DVD release! The soundtrack CD features SOFT CELL, early EINSTURZENDE NEUBAUTEN, MATT JOHNSON (THE THE), DAVE BALL and GENESIS P-ORRIDGE, and WILLIAM BURROUGHS (a lot of the music on the CD is not in the film and vice versa)." All this AND...the film ain't bad either!

Away We Go (USA/UK, 2009) John Krasinski, Maya Rudolph - why didn't I hear about this movie before now? Did it really suck? The trailer didn't suck!
A young actor I tutor has a small part in this, so I meant to go see it, but never got around to it, partially because it never came to the local cineplex I don't think. Anyway, the reviews weren't overwhelming but they certainly weren't bad. It's directed by Sam Mendes, BTW. | odessasteps

None of these had any details when I checked (except stickers on some boxes did refer to a particular episode - or pilot!) but they appear to have as many episodes as could be crammed onto one disc - usually, 7-9 for half hour shows. These are all half hour shows, right? All in the Family: Fan Favorites Barney Miller: Fan Favorites Bewitched: Fan Favorites Diff'rent Strokes: Fan Favorites Good Times: Fan Favorites I Dream of Jeannie: Fan Favorites The Jeff Foxworthy Show: Fan Favorites The Jeffersons: Fan Favorites The King of Queens: Fan Favorites Married... It seems to me that most of these sets have been on sale recently, either at Borders or Best Buy.
I wonder if those were old versions that were being marked down to make room for these editions with new packaging.

I thought it was pretty good. Rudolph and Krasinski give pretty good performances. It's definitely one of those indies filled with quirky people, though, so if you hate those, you might want to skip it.

Agreed. It was fine, but I won't be adding it to my collection.
