THIS WEEK IN TV, OR THE RETURN OF NETWORK TELEVISION
Well technically last week was, with the premiere of Saturday Night College Football. But that's dependent upon the NCAA schedule, so we're not going to count that.
It's mostly CW shows premering this week. We'll call the real premiere date Thursday, September 17th and thereafter.

Monday has only a new Dateline NBC.
Tuesday-ABC has new episodes of Shaq Vs. (Shaq vs. Oscar de la Hoya) and Primetime: Family Secrets. CBS has a new Big Brother. The CW premieres season 2 of 90210 and the season premiere of Melrose Place. FOX has new episodes of Hell's Kitchen and More To Love. NBC has a two-hour America's Got Talent.
Wednesday-ABC, CBS, and NBC are airing the President's Address to a Joint Session of Congress. It is about health care. Besides that, ABC has new episodes of Wipeout and Primetime: Crime. The CW has the two-hour 13th-cycle premiere of America's Next Top Model. FOX is not airing the president's speech because they had the premiere of season 6 of So You Think You Can Dance scheduled. They follow that up with let's call it the premiere (with the previous episode being a pilot) of Glee. That episode reairs on Friday. NBC airs a new America's Got Talent later in the night.
Thursday-CBS has a new Big Brother. The CW has the series premiere of The Vampire Diaries and season premiere of Supernatural. NBC, meanwhile, has the opening game of the NFL's regular season, with the Tennessee Titans playing the Pittsburgh Steelers.
Friday-ABC has a new 20/20. The CW is reairing the premieres of The Vampire Diaries and Melrose Place. FOX has a new Are You Smarter Than A 5th Grader? and the aforementioned repeat of Glee.
Saturday-ABC brings us the NASCAR Sprint Cup Chevy Rock & Roll 400 from Richmond International Raceway. CBS has the 2009 US Open Tennis Women's Championship. FOX has the 22nd season premiere of Cops and the 23rd season premiere of America's Most Wanted. Also, while not in prime time, FOX is apparently burning off episodes of Sit Down, Shut Up Saturday nights at 11:59 pm Eastern (after Talk Show w/ Spike Feresten).
Sunday-ABC has new episodes of Shark Tank and Defying Gravity. CBS has new episodes of 60 Minutes, Big Brother, and the last two episodes of There Goes The Neighborhood. The CW has Benny & Joon (The W at Amazon), along with reruns of those premieres of The Vampire Diaries and Melrose Place. The CW seems to be hoping that you might stumble across either of these shows entirely by accident and start watching. On FOX, the series finale of King of the Hill airs. TheFutonCritic says there are still 4 more episodes that have not aired (with production codes 1313 to 1316). Wikipedia says these shows will not air on FOX, but will be part of the syndication package (and presumably advertised as lost episodes on the DVD when it comes out). NBC has the 4th season premiere of Football Night in America, followed by the 4th season premiere of NBC's Sunday Night Football, with the Chicago Bears playing the Green Bay Packers.

Just remember -- we're not the demographic. Dog fanciers will love it, we think it's a turd in a punchbowl. From a creative standpoint, I think it works; I would think it's relatively cheap, since you only need a dog handler and maybe a wind machine.
