Turns out our redirect code was being used by some URL spammers and this in turn tripped up some malware warnings on Firefox, Google and a few other places. I have recoded our redirects so outside folks can't use them the way they want to while WE still can, but it will probably take some time for those people to confirm that, yes, we're not a dangerous place and those links beginning with "the-w.com/redirect/" are totally safe. (By the way, there are no unsafe links posted on the board itself as far as I know - if you find any, tell us immediately - the links to bad places were all being accessed off of the board but using our redirect in THEIR URL - which shows up nicely in our log and would be easy enough to trace if any law enforcement happened by and were so inclined to try to find them for us...we'd love to help!)
So anyway. Next time, somebody TELL me these things so I can fix them more quickly! ;-)
EDIT 2: Ha ha, I redirected the redirect - stupid clever coding. FIXED
EDIT 3: And now I can't get the warning at home and don't know if it's because they already took me off their list or if my Mac Firefox doesn't behave the same way as the Windows Firefox I was using at work. Oh well, serves me right for checking one last time before going out...
