I've been waiting and waiting for someone to mention this show, but no one has. I'm wondering if that is because no one is watching it or that no one wants to admit to watching a MTV show. Our Tivo picked this up randomly about a year ago, and we watched it trying to figure out why the heck the Tivo recorded it. We thought we would watch about 3 minutes of it, thumbs down it and never see it again. Needless to say we watched the whole episode and gave it a thumbs up and eagerly watch new episodes.

This has got to be the funniest "reality" show ever, if not one of the funniest shows on TV in general right now.

You can go to the official web site and check out what they say about it, http://www.mtv.com/ontv/dyn/rob_and_big/series.jhtml

I'd try to describe it, but Heather Armstrong has already done a much better job... http://www.dooce.com/2008/03/17/grand-total-78215-words

"There's this show on MTV called "Rob and Big," and I know there's nothing more annoying than hearing someone talking about a television show you don't watch, except maybe having to sit there while someone tells you about the dream they had last night, but pay attention because this is important. Rob is this tiny professional skateboarder who lives in LA and Big is his huge bodyguard, and the show follows them around as they do every stupid thing a 14-year-old boy wishes he could do if only he had the money. And it is our favorite show on television, and one night we're sitting there watching it unable to breathe because we're laughing so hard, and I'm all, I'M NOT SUPPOSED TO FIND THIS FUNNY. What is wrong with me? I didn't like 14-year-old boys when I was a 14-year-old girl, so why was I identifying with this show now? I totally wanted to break up with me.
There's one specific episode where the two of them are driving through a car wash and an Enrique Iglesias song comes on, and Rob reaches down and turns the car stereo up as loud as it will go and starts singing along like crazy, as if he had written the song himself, and he's moving his arms to the rhythm like a lunatic. And Big is sitting in the passenger seat, perfectly calm, quietly mouthing the words, nodding his head almost imperceptibly. Jon paused the show and said, this is it, this is why we love this show so much. THAT IS OUR MARRIAGE RIGHT THERE."

Do yourself a favor and go watch an episode on the website. You really can't help but be in a good mood after watching one.

*comes out of the woodwork*

I got hooked on it a couple months ago since MTV2 has mini-marathons of this show every day practically. It's weird because you automatically feel like you shouldn't like this show, that you should change the channel, but their antics are so amusing that you want to see what they'll try next. All it took was the Bobby Light episode and I was in.

When the show was first starting and they had teasers for it, it looked like another Viva La Bam. I thought it would be Rob doing obnoxious and stupid things. Okay, it is still sorta that, but the light-hearted approach is what makes it watchable.

It's sad though that the show is nearing its end. Of course it'll live on through endless reruns on MTV and its stations, but check it out while it's still fresh.

I like the show a lot. What attracts me to it is that it is fun to watch without any drama. Granted, there is Rob's cousin and assistant whose name is "Drama". But what I mean is that unlike other reality shows, this isn't a show that has to have conflict to be interesting. It's just about two guys that really are good friends that have have really fun adventures with each other.

What's also great about the show, IMO, is Meaty the bulldog. That dog is so friggin talented and funny, I could whole episodes of him and only him.

I really want an assistant named "Drama"... I think yelling "Drama!!!" all the time would be really theraputic.

The wife and I have watched this show since the debut and I completely agree with everybody's assessment of the show. You're not supposed to like the show but it's soo great that you don't want to turn it off.

I actually had to download the "Dirty Girl" song that "Bobby Lite" did.

Its an awesome show! I recommend it to anybody that likes to laugh at silly but fun things.

Unfortunately, myself and Mrs. Tep weren't as impressed with the series as we were with the first two Blade movies. I don't think Sticky Fingaz was bad as a replacement of Wesley Snipes, but Snipes brought a bit more to the role (i.e. hair).
