I wasn't aware that there were two different edits of this song available commercially. Since they are identically labeled, what exactly is the difference between number one and number six? Or is there no difference at all, and this is just an error on the part of the good people at iTunes in listing the same song twice?

Often on ITunes a song will get released as a single, and then as part of the album. That's the case here. The #1 listing is for the single, the #6 listing is people buying it from the album's page.
