| #1 Posted on 25.2.08 2030.34 | Instant Rating: 0.32 | here is list of movies that are a BAD idea to remake after a lot of searching this is what I found
Further Adventures in Babysitting: Disney will remake the film "Adventures in Babysitting" with Raven and Miley Cyrus. ...Why?
Friday the 13th: Ok TCM was a good remake, Halloween wasn'. But why Fridy the 13? why not just remake Nightmare on Elm street...oh wait the are.
Race to Witch Mountain: a remake of excape form witch mountain staring The rock.
The way disney is tossing out film ideas I give it a year before we get a Phil of the futcher, Zack and cody, a Kyle XY movie.

Somehow I doubt we'll get to hear the crew cruising to Edwin Starr as they high-tail it back to the 'burbs on the Ike in the new version, and this saddens me.

| #4 Posted on 26.2.08 1028.34 | I can see people being upset about remakes of classic films like Psycho, The Wizard of Oz, or Star Trek, but Adventures in Babysitting and Escape from Witch Mountain?
Really?
I mean, really?

Adventures of Babysitting is CRIMINALLY underrated, to the extent that it is rated at all.
First of all, it has aged really well. My mother bought this for nieces and nephew and they freaked out at her because she was forcing them to watch an OLD movie that they had never heard of, but within less than five minutes it entered their "best film ever" category.
Granted that there are dozens of films on that list, but still.
The film stars THOR!
OK. It's really a cameo, but STILL. THOR!

Actually, I'd say that movie is criminally OVERRATED. It was on tv last night and it was just as bad as I remembered. The whole Thor scene where hard-ass Private Pyle melts because the girl gives him her helmet is uber lame. Bradley Whitford as the no-good boyfriend??? Come on. Chris Columbus WISHES he was John Hughes.

I sort of thought it was about The Longest Yard.

| #8 Posted on 27.2.08 0922.45 | Instant Rating: 7.82 | I've been hearing about this one (imdb.com) for awhile...and for some reason, 20 years is long enough without a remake of this (imdb.com).
I just did a keyword search on imdb (imdb.com) and there are a LOT. Footloose? Meatballs? Fame? SHort Circuit?
