Holy shit, you might as well give Bryan Cranston the Best Actor Emmy right now (never thought I'd say THAT). He was MAGNIFICENT in the pilot of AMC's "Breaking Bad" tonight, which itself was an awesome show.

I guess my critique was that I was hoping to see more of Walt in the classroom, as I think him being a chemistry teacher AND a meth maker could make for some good storytelling and juxtaposition down the road.

Otherwise, Cranston seemed the perfcet guy to play this role because he really does look the part of your average weak-willed chemistry teacher. Great episode, and I'm looking forward to next week's already.

This show is phenomenal. If you can, check it out on AMC On Demand and catch the first two episodes. I really don't see how you could start watching this without having seen them.

Even without the Writer's Strike I think this would still be the best show on TV right now. I know that might sound crazy after only two episodes but get back to me after you have watched them.

And when I say this is a dark comedy, I am talking pitch black here.

I think what I like the best is that when I'm watching, I don't see Malcom's dad. I see him as they present him in the show, the fish-out-of-water chemistry prof.

I'm with geemoney. He is amazing in this part. I wasn't going to watch because he was on Malcom, but after catching the 1st episode while channel flipping, I was hooked.

This show is so over the top great, it's a shame it isnt on a network where it could get more press.

Best show of the season IMO.

I agree with StaggerLee, this show is probably my favorite on tv right now. The wife and I have been catching the replays with On Demand so I'm a week behind. We just watched the intervention episode and were both amazed at how good of an actor Cranston is.

Jackson mentioned only having seven episodes, is that because of the strike or was that planned?

Not at all. F'rinstance of the Day: Her leg was blown off (clearly) & she was in shock, but she wasn't at all dead. Mike was scared & guilty at bailing out on her, & is desperately trying to convince himself that she was dead anyway.
