So, yeah. There was a PPV. There were a couple of good matches, some okay stuff, some blah stuff. Not so great.

But Oh My God.

Scott Hall no showed.

And this is what Samoa Joe had to say about it:

We have *superstars*, who not only screw us – the hard working "wrestlers" – in TNA, but they screw each and every fan who paid to see them, no matter how old they are. So lemme make this real simple, let me explain TNA to you. TNA is the Motor City Machine Guns coming down here and busting their ass, trying to get a break in this business; TNA is Black Machismo doing his damndest to entertain every single person in this building, and showing us what's up; TNA is Samoa Joe coming in here and doing what he does best, wrestle and be the best damn professional wrestler in the world; TNA is a bunch of hard working, young athletes who are looking to change the wrestling world; guys who held down this business while others profiteer from it; TNA is the guys who come in here and risk their lives on scaffolds and wires, while other people show up and pad their pensions. So I'll tell you what, Scott Hall - *chico* - I'll tell you what. Kiss my ass, you're a punk.

Scott Hall no-showed a PPV? I'm shocked! SHOCKED, I say! Actually, I'm more shocked that someone at TNA will genuinely be surprised that Scott Hall turned out to be a bad investment.

Joe's "shoot" reminded me WAY too much of Bash 2000, for my tastes. I don't think getting people to think of WCW is the right way to go, but that's just me.

Nothing else notable, except that Rellik is now 0-3. Great way to build new stars, guys!

EDIT: The Observer says that Scott Hall's excuse for no-showing is food poisoning, which is the excuse I always use to call out of work whenever I'm hungover. Hey, I'm just saying...

So..Joe spoke his mind, and something tells me this was with the nod from management.
In that case, *shrug*..at most we'll get New blood v2.

If it really was a shoot, he's either fucked or nobody will mention it again..

Btw, wasn't there supposed to be that crazy battle royale?
What happened to that?

The Feast or Fired match? Scott Steiner, Petey Williams, Senshi, and B. G. James got the cases, and ... tune in to Impact to see who got what. No, I'm not kidding -- they put the finish of the match off until Impact.

You think that now after all of the Jeff Hardys, Sean Waltmans, Randy Savages & Scott Halls, TNA would FINALLY learn their lesson.

And remember all of the people saying "don't worry, Joe WILL be champ by the end of 2007" ... so much for that, eh?

Well, they probably just didn't want to take a chance on whoever gets a case grabbing the wrong one. Still, they could've had Cornette open them all and tell 'em what they've won. No reason the contracts inside actually had to be contracts, they could just say who gets what, lest he forget.

What's the deal with the complaining about Relik. So he's 0 - 3, big deal, do we really want him pushed? They've pushed Kaz, Roode, Motor City Machine Guns and the entire women's division correctly and nobody mentions it but Oh my God they aren't pushing Relik right!!

About Joe: My guess is that Hall legit no-showed, and someone (Jarrett? Russo? Cornette?) gave Joe a mic and sent him out there. I doubt that everyone was expecting Joe to go as far as he did.

The next set of tapings will be interesting. Will Joe get fired? Will Hall come back and beat down Joe (OMG!)? I know it's not an OMG-actual-shoot-who-gave-Joe-a-live-mic but I wonder how far on the work side it is.

About Rellik: I think 3 quick losses immediately upon introduction is weird, for sure. It makes me wonder if he's just a placeholder until Mesias gets back and then he's done. I do think it's too bad because I think he's a better monster than Rhodes and maybe Mesias too, but like Quezzy says, he's not really a priority of mine.

(Quezzy's also right about Kaz and the rest -- they all looked good last night.)

About the Women's Match: That was a really fun match. Kong killed EVERYONE. The surprising part for me: the crowd chanting for ODB to come out for the save!

About the Feast or Fired: I figured they wouldn't open the cases until after the match -- I didn't count on them STILL not opening the cases. It makes me wonder if they've even decided yet who gets what!

The most obvious outcome: Senshi gets X, BG gets Tag, Steiner gets World, Petey gets fired. I almost can't see how it wouldn't go this way, but I think it'd be REALLY BORING. I'd rather see things mixed up a little. I'd like to see Scott Steiner go for the X Title. Actually, I'd like to see the promos between him and Black Machismo.

It's just very puzzling booking. Why bring him in if he's going to do every job?

The whole Abyss-post-Mesias-injury booking has been really weird. It's one thing to scramble for the very next PPV, but that was three months ago.

Actually, according to the Torch, he quit.

Well, here's more from PWTorch.com

-----

- As reported, Scott Hall missed last night's show due to food poisoning. TNA had contact with him early in the day, and they could not reach him later on. Eventually he sent a text message saying he had food poisoning and he never came, although they held out hope that he would make it.

- Samoa Joe was asked to cut the promo last night in order to put the heat on Hall and then put over contracted talent, eventually to reveal Eric Young as the partner. Joe went much longer than scripted, and laid into Kevin Nash more than was expected, upsetting Nash, especially since Nash was a supporter of TNA signing Joe.

- During the interview, when Joe leaned over the ropes and said, "Go ahead and fire me, I don't care," he was looking at TNA President Dixie Carter. She and many others were upset at Joe for "going into business for himself." After the match, Nash waited for Joe backstage and they had a heated exchange, but eventually cooled down.

- At the TNA tapings today, Terry Taylor brought everyone's contract with him to a talent meeting. Dixie Carter told anyone that wanted their release that they could have it on the spot. Senshi took her up on her offer and is now gone from the company. Senshi was one of the winners in last night's "Feast or Fired" match, so it will be easy to explain his firing.

- Samoa Joe gave an emotional apology to the locker room for going overboard the previous night, and hopes everyone would take his apology. This was followed by Kurt Angle and Booker T giving pep talks to the roster, telling them that they had a lot to be positive about and asking them to keep working hard.

-----

So you see, SOME of it was a shoot..... (cough)

I did like Samoa Joe leaning in and saying "Fire me, I don't care" to Dixie Carter.....

Kevin Kelly: "Mr. Austin, would you like to comment on Wade Keller's Take that endorsing the XFL hurts your anti-authority character?"

Steve Austin: "Oh shit, he actually said that? I thought the boys in the back were ribbing me!"

Kelly: "No, he really said that. Did they tell you the part about you sitting in the stands, looking all skeptical?"

Austin: "AHAHAHAHAHAHA. Yeah... oh man that was too much."

Jesus Christ, it appears BG, Kip, and Dustin all know they have no other options at this point and sat on their hands when Dixie made the offer. Damn!

Sounds to me like Joe just took it too far in the eyes of management, and then apologized. It seems juicy to talk about, but apparently it has already blown over within the company.

While it sucks that Low Ki is gone, they never did much with him since his return anyway, so it's into much of a loss.

At the Impact tapings Senshi actually loses his briefcase so his is not necessarily the fired briefcase. In fact, since they had to give the briefcase to somebody else I think that's a good sign it won't be the pink slip case.
