George Takei, Nichelle Nichols. So every living member of the original Star Trek cast has to be the parent of one of the Heroes. I suppose it's possible then for Leonard Nimoy to appear if not as Sylar's father then as his grandfather, which would be more believable considering their ages. Maybe when they have to promote the Star Trek movie next Christmas. I can't imagine it would be too hard to get Shatner to show up as Matt Parkman's father. Or Walter Koening as Niki's father.

Cop or no cop, there is no way child services would allow Molly to live with Matt Parkman and Mohinder in a crappy Brooklyn apartment whose previous occupant was murdered.

How come when Peter used his healing powers after Dominic (I'm Star Trek too!) Keating shot him, his powers spit the bullets out before healing him but when Kensei healed, the arrowhead remained inside him?

If Flying Emo Boy's grand plan all along was to get Claire up in the sky for a romantic flight a la Superman and Lois Lane, did he have to be such a sneaky, stalkerish dick about it?

Most awkward product placement easily goes to the guy in jail that broke out with Maya and her brother. "Take me with you! I have a car! It's a brand new Nissan Rogue. Get yours today at any Nissan dealer."

Oh, for a bunch of Irishmen, when it came time after the heist for the crew holding Peter to celebrate with pints of Guinness, they drank it all wrong. Any real Irishman would tell you (as they told me) you don't sip Guinness like wussies, you tilt your head back, close your eyes, and drink it deeply with relish and appreciation.

The laugh out loud moment for me was when Mohinder showed up at Issac's apartment and had no idea he's been dead for this long. If Mohinder only knew how long Issac's corpse was rotting on the floor of the loft.

DL Hawkins, we hardly knew ye. Aw, who cares?

So last week we were saying how Heroes is just ok. It should be made clear that it is just ok OVERALL, not always. Often times there are crap episodes, and to even it out there are often great ones. Tonight was one of the greats. Your mileage may vary, but I'm fairly easy to please.

Hiro's Story: Ando's discovery of the letters was great. I'm still hoping that eventually Hiro becomes the legendary samurai instead of Honky White Dude. I at least want to see him go from the somewhat bumbling geek to the badass ninja within this season.

Claire's Story: West's questions in the beginning of class were awesome. Shooting up into the sky with Claire was awesome. The painting reveal and father/daughter moment at the end was awesome. I hope there's no swerve with West because his character is fine just how it is. One thing that bugged me was that be was holding Claire like Superman would have, but he's just a regular skinny little twerp. It's not like she should have been riding piggyback or anything, but a bit more of a "realistic" position would've been nice.

Peter's Story: Peter trying to will his powers out by saying the words reminded me of Spiderman when he's trying to learn to use his webs. Nice throwback. Moving the armored truck and Vader-choking the traitor were both nice little scenes. The whole "I don't want to be a criminal" followed by the "yay, let's all be tattooed best friends now" is pretty stupid. I can see where they're going with it, and it's good, but there could've been a better way to get there.

Latino Twins: This is finally picking up. I wonder how the other prisoner survived the deadly eye bleed effect.

SYLAR! We all knew he was going to kill the illusionist, and when he finally did, we all cheered. Sylar rules. I can't wait to see how he gets his mojo back.

Mohinder is again just a useful plot element, and he was kept to a minimum in this episode. Good work, Heroes.

Nikki/Micah Question: Were we supposed to know who the old lady who answered the door was? The camera work and music made it seem like it but I had no idea.

Lloyd: When I met Mary, I got that old fashioned romantic feeling, where I'd do anything to bone her.
Harry: That's a special feeling.

No, no, no. No more Kring Masturbation over the whiny bitch that is Sylar. I never understood why people love overpowered-twink characters so much...

That was Claire's car that got stolen last week. (Hence the "Go Conquistadors!" bumper sticker on the back.)

Some thoughts after giving last night's episode some thought:

West told Claire about her father's habit of "bagging and tagging" heroes and erasing their memories. Now... is it really what it seems, this clueless guy unknowingly telling her that her father did this? Or is he working for the Company and trying to turn her against her father?
And furthermore, is it totally random that her father happened to pick this town? He was obviously here before if he found West there.

Does Noah Bennet have powers? It seems to be implied that Isaac's remaining paintings, the series of eight, are supposed to be the killing off of the Superfriends. Was Bennet part of their group? I don't think that has been suggested before.

Obviously a big thing is the helix tattoo that appeared on the Irish girl. But it's not really much to go on. Obviously Peter being "found" by the Irish guys was no accident; maybe the tip about the iPods really came from her? Somehow I don't think the brother is in on it.

The other prisoner survived the same way the cops did: her brother used his powers to "take it back" before the eye bleeding thing went far enough to kill anyone.

I think we only got funky camera work and music because it was another Star Trek cameo.

The kid got bagged when his family lived in St Louis, he said. Still, that whole story totally reeked of pre-planned set up. Reeked of it. Its been kept pretty clear that Bennett doesn't have powers, other than just being bad ass, and we did see his induction into the company last season, so I'd say its a safe bet he's not one of the SuperFriends. Its the last painting in the series 8, so my guess is that it's showing him failing to stop the one man Legion of Doom, but much like the paintings of NY going boom, it can be changed. Save the Cheerleader's Stepdad, Save the World.

The helix was on Peter's arm, it was the last part of the tattoo to heal itself away.

Yeah, I re-watched it and realized that the tattoo was on Peter's arm. I really hate the whole helix tattoos that disappear thing. It goes against logic in a way that the superpowers on the show never do. Nikki/Jessica had one, and now Peter... annoying.

But did he actually kill her? I had assumed that the girl was simply creating another illusion (why would she be stupid enough to think she could trust him?), and that in next week's episode we shall see that Sylar is in heavier constraints - since he failed the "test" - and that she'll be alive and well.

I really, really hope so. I was watching with my dad and wondered why an illusionist like that would *ever* be where she actually appears to be. Simple self-defense.

This would then explain why his power(s) are not working - she's not allowing it in the illusion.

Yeah, seems pretty obvious now. Guess I just got caught up in the EVILness of it all.

I'll have to watch again to be certain, but I had the impression that when Sylar came out of the shack, his hands were clean, even though they were bloody when he was inside. Production error, or a clue that the murder of Candace/Michelle (hey...)/whatever her real name is was another illusion?

Maybe West's powers are levitation, not flight, so he can "lift" other people.

But when he was sneaking off to "cheer leading practice" with Claire and her dad was following, he lifted up, then shot off sideways didn't he?

All possible if he can increase/decrease the speed at which he levitates.

This one felt like a good episode that was about to wrap up with an amazing ending, before it suddenly just...ended. Yeah, that was an abrupt finish, but it still doesn't take away too much from the obsessed Monarch and his awesome minions. Sgt.
