Ever since i read the great "Luke Johnston stalks CRZ" IM logs i've been meaning to ask how one can find their AOL chat logs.

As far as i can figure you have to save individual IMs that you want saved. But Z said something like "remember AOL logs everything."

So any help folks?

By using AIM you can just save the conversation whenever you want. But if you use a Trillian it will log all conversations you have in the program (AIM, Yahoo, MSN, ICQ, not sure about IRC). There might be specific applications that log AIM convo's but I am not sure.

On the Macintosh, AOLIM does log everything in the application. It doesn't do this in the Windows versions.

I thought it might be a Mac thing. I guess that's one aspect i can finally admit that Macs have PCs beat.
Either way i got me some trillian (and unfortunalty my fears of it being named after Star Trek are now stronger than ever) and i like its so far.

Thanks for the help

Actually, I'd say it's named after a character in the Hitchhikers guide to the Galaxy books, there's a chick named Trillian in it.

Could be from HHGttG i just vaguly remember (again as much as i am ashamed to admit it) an alien race on ST that could host other organisims within it called trillians. that seems like a pretty good description of the program. But in the end who the hell cares?

boy am i glad this is in random

I thought that li'l symbiotic race was Trills, not Trillians (been a while since I saw DS9 episodes).

I believe that collectively they were trills but as an adjective (i.e. trillian history) it was trillian.

I swear this is the last i have to say about the subject. never again will i admit my ST geekery

I think the Wrath of Khan two disk set has some pretty awesome special features. And of COURSE Back to the Future goes without saying...
