Hello.
Even though we have 256 new listings to share with you, this looks to be another slow week - only two big movie releases, NO Blu-Ray releases, and slim pickings amongst the new television making up Tuesday's DVD releases. Still, there are some interesting vintage titles showing up this week, some curious casting, and the story of one farting child. Read on...
For those of you who haven't endured one of these lists before, it works thusly:
Hovering over links should provide you with Amazon's current price.
CLICKING on those links will take you to the Amazon shopping cart with a friendly referral from The W - consider making your purchase through us and it'll place a few coins in our tip jar!
Because Amazon sometimes can't come correct with the information, you will see some exposition from me (or, more likely, a bad joke) in addition to the listing along with IMDb icons (which can be clicked to take you to a movie's IMDb listing) or tv.com icons (which can be clicked to take you to the relevant episode list from tv.com)
All links should open in new windows so you can come right back here after your research! (If you want - we're totally flexible about that!)
Please tell a friend (or vote 'em up Digg/Netscape/&c. with a click of the icon of your choice at the bottom) about this post because it takes me a long time and I'm a big fan of more eyeballs!
Please feel free to add a reply and share your two cents about any of the listings you see here - show off your impressive knowledge, share your opinion about something you've seen, something you're looking forward to seeing, or make your own crappy jokes which are better than mine!
We also hope that if you buy something, you come back and tell us what you thought about it!
If you have something to say but don't want to say it publicly (or register for the board), you can also email me direct at CRZ.DVD@gmail.com!
EXPENSIVE NEW VERSIONS OF FILMS YOU ALREADY BOUGHT: Napoleon Dynamite Flippin' Sweet Collector's Set - (2004) "2-Disc Special Edition DVD with Napoleon Dynamite and Kip Dynamite Head Knockers, Set of 5 All-New Removable iPod Sticker Covers" - sounds like a ripoff at this price, but the kids seem to enjoy it
WTF OF THE WEEK: Mirror Wars - Reflection One (Zerkalnie Voyni: Otrazhenie Pervoye - 2005) Says it's a USA film, but there sure are a lot of Russian dudes in the listing - oh, and also Malcolm McDowell, Armand Assante and Rutger Hauer - I know, WTF?
LIKE MST3K...BUT DIFFERENT: The Film Crew: Hollywood After Dark Mike Nelson, Kevin Murphy, and Bill Corbett take on Rue McClanahan in "Hollywood After Dark" (Walk the Angry Beach, 1968)
Castle Rock (2000) Alana Austin, Pamela Bach, Ernest Borgnine, Frank Gorshin - sure, why not Ever Since the World Ended (2001) Plague wipes out San Francisco - except for 186 people, two of which decide the best thing to do is...make a documentary East of Sunset (2004)
The Contractor (direct to DVD, Bulgaria/UK/USA, 2007) Wesley Snipes - hey, wait. How'd they get Wesley Snipes into BULGARIA? Nailed (direct to DVD, Australia, 2007) In Passing - info at Olive Films (olivefilms.com)
Baywatch: Season 1 (import) Australian version of the "real" Season 1 (aka the NBC season) which hasn't yet seen a complete release stateside Baywatch: Season 2 (Australian import) Probably comparable to the US "Season 1" release - no help to "Baywatch" completists
I dunno, they sure seem to be taking great pains to avoid any trademarks or paying any NFL royalties...oh well, I'm sure the fantasy football crowd will eat it up.
MULTINATIONAL MOVIE ABOUT FARTING KID OF THE WEEK: Thunderpants (Italy/France/UK/Germany/USA/Netherlands, 2002) Only the Weinsteins could bring such a touching story to the masses - Ned Beatty, Stephen Fry, Paul Giamatti, and thousands more - introducing Bruce Cook as the flatulent lad
PHEW!
See you Monday for the late edits and Amazon's Top 24!

I thought you were making this one up! But yes, Ron Weasley can fart!
CRZ had to edit my profile and close my table for me. I am a bad man.
Originally posted by odessasteps I wonder if the Home Run Derby DVDs will be in order, or cherry picked for just the mega-star ballplayers like Mantle, Mays, Aaron and so on.
Basically, that's who was in these. These were filmed events at Wrigley Field in California (LA). One natioanl league guy against one American league one. Mantle against Banks or Mays against Killebrew and so on. With interviews.
Supposedly, all the episodes will be released. It's like 30 episodes and 4 are on each DVD.
Participants
* Hank Aaron * Bob Allison * Ernie Banks * Ken Boyer * Bob Cerv * Rocky Colavito * Gil Hodges * Jackie Jensen * Al Kaline * Jim Lemon * Harmon Killebrew * Mickey Mantle * Eddie Mathews * Willie Mays * Wally Post * Frank Robinson * Duke Snider * Dick Stuart * Gus Triandos * Tom Saffell -- pitcher[1] * John Van Ornum -- catcher[1]

Somewhere, I have them all on tape from when they were on like 15 years ago. I love how the guy was sitting at a desk like 10 feet away from home plate. it's wonderful.
I totally remember Home Run Derby. I want to say that it was on ESPN in the mornings about 15 years ago. That was really fun to watch the legends go head to head like that. My dad loved it because being a baseball fan, he passed on a lot of cool trivia to me on all the guys on the show. And yeah, I loved the announce table on the field, that was a sweet touch!
I just watched The Contractor and The Last Time - had never heard of either before this week. Contractor was bland, straight-to-video for a reason. Michael Keaton in The Last Time is great, I thought, as a total cocky bastard, and Brendan Fraser plays a naive sidekick-type with a total psychotic side. Definitely a pleasant surprise. While it wasn't something I'd buy, perhaps its worth a rent.
Something is wrong with me. Everytime I see "Peep Diss Videos", for an instant I think that it says "Deep Piss Videos", which is something else entirely. For some reason, I have no problem telling everyone on the internet that, when I'd probably be too embarrassed to mention it to my real life friends. I'm sure you'd rather I had kept my mouth shut.

It's even worse for you because I already USED that joke back on 6/12 (The W) (after almost using it 5/15 AND 5/29, but both times caught the pull/reschedule before I put up the final version) so you're only compounding things by not even being original.

I thought it sounded familiar! In my defense, I haven't really been reading the whole DVD list lately. I look at the new movies coming out, the new TV shows coming out, and see if there are any amusing titles for the new porn movies.
