| #1 Posted on 21.6.07 0208.17 | What do you think will happen between now and next year?
ECW: Has a better shot of lasting with guys like Nitro, and Benoit on there. I think in one year ECW will still be around but with Mysterio and possibly a returning Y2J to fill the gap left by RVD and Sabu.
ECW Champ : Benoit or Rey Mysterio
Smackdown:I don't really watch Smackdown any more but, I feel in one year the main event will be Edge and Taker, So Undertaker can have revenge on edge and still keep his streak.
World title: Edge or Rick Flair
Raw: With the last few main eventers returning in the next few months The main event scene will only improve when we get HBk vs Kennedy and Cena vs Lashly
WWE title : Mr. Kennedy......Kennedy
what do you guys think? also feel free to add the other titles if you want| Promote this thread! | | Super Shane Spear

| #6 Posted on 21.6.07 2300.32 | Instant Rating: 2.29 | I also believe ECW will be gone in a year. At the moment I see the WM24 main event as John Cena vs. Mr. Kennedy for the WWE Championship, but (as much as I like Kennedy and dislike Cena) Cena's 4-0 at WrestleMania, and so I'll believe he loses at WrestleMania when I see it happen. (I wouldn't be too surprised to see them put an Undertaker-like streak of WM wins together for Cena). So, in a year's time, I see Cena as still being the WWE Champion (with one double-switch between now and then, maybe with [bleh] Randy Orton). I'll take a shot at the other titles too, why not? The Intercontinental Title will be held by Chris Masters a year from now, the World Tag Team Title by London and Kendrick, and the Women's Title by Mickie James. On the SmackDown side of things, I'll go against the grain and say that Montel Vontavious Porter (whom I believe is much, much better than most people give him credit for) will be the World Heavyweight Champion on June 21, 2008. Chris Benoit will be the U.S. Champion, and the WWE Tag Team Championship will be held by a team that has yet to debut in WWE. I wouldn't call ECW dead yet. IIRC, the ratings that ECW gets now (around 1.5 or so) is about in line with what Sci-Fi was hoping for when the initial deal was made, and even at 1.5, that's way better than what Sci-Fi was getting in that timeslot with other programming. The last thing to keep in mind is that Sci-Fi's under the Universal umbrella, and Universal essentially owes Vince one for taking RAW back to the shock TV days and upping the celebrity factor with Donald Trump and (later this year) Jackass.
So when all's said and done, I expect ECW to get renewed, probably for another two years.
 | read a bunch of incoherent nonsense now 52% more incoherent! | | smark/net attack Advisory System Status is: Elevated (Holds; June 18, 2006) While the switch from Cena to RVD should alleviate some complaints, the inevitability of the belt's return to Cena (note where Summerslam is this year) and the poor initial showing by the new ECW are enough to keep the indicator where it is for now. The pieces are in place, though, especially on RAW, for improvements to be made to the IWC's psyche in the near future. | |
